Ok, long story short. On my 2008 DC I installed toytec adjustable coil overs and TC UCA in the front and pro comp shocks and an AAL in the rear. I've had it for a few years. It's always had a harsh ride IMO. My brother just got a 2013 DC and installed the fixed adjustable bilstein 5100's with the toytec/eibach springs and TC UCA in the front and bilstein 5100's in the rear with an AAL. His rides like a Cadillac. Is there that much of a difference in the two setups? I understand his truck is newer but mine never rode that good. Thoughts?.

Oh, and if I do go in a different direction then how much could I get for my Toytec Coilovers? Thanks guys.

If you are re-doing your lift go with the 5100's at least, toytec coilovers are garbage IMO, you get what you pay for.

The 5100's with the toytec coils are cheaper than the toytec Coilovers that I originally bought. Thought about getti the OME shocks and 885 coils. I just want the best ride quality. I still have all my stock parts too. I called toytec and a lady (insert comment here) told me to put stock parts back in and just get a spacer. Hmmmm..

Btw I see you run 285/75 km2's. how do you like them? I just ordered four yesterday. I've had two pairs of Km's and loved them but I wonder about the new tread pattern.

Your ride might be harsh upfront due to the amount of preload your C/O's have been adjusted to and it sounds like you have them cranked atleast 2.5 to 3 inches if your running UCAs. From what I can understand the billy 5100s C/Os still compress the spring but maybe not as bad as your toytec C/Os. The rear may ride different due to the valving bilstien uses in thier shocks. Single AALs are always going to ride stiff and imho procomp shocks are garbage. Just my 2 cents.

Definitely gonna go with bilstein 5100's in the rear. Yes i want 2.5-3" of lift. What would you do for the best ride quality up front?

The km2's have been awesome, I'm on the last 1000miles on these and will probably move up to 305's but not sure if I wanna go through more trimming.
The OME's are great but the ride may be to rough on street from what some friends have experienced in the past.
Unless your going to go with some nice Icon coilovers your best bet imo is the 5100's with some nice springs to get the best ride quality.

All my driving is on the roads. No offroading for me. From what i can see most people recommend the 5100's. What springs do you recommend?

A big fat set of fox/icon/king 2.5 C/Os valved correctly. But if you crank those your ride will still be harsh. If you keep em around 2-2.5" inches if lift they ride great from what I hear. I'm going with a set fox's in the future through down south motor sports they will revalve them for you to your specific needs. But since you keep her on the road you could get away with some 2" C/Os or an OME set up with correct spring rate do a littlw research on OME lifts that might be your best bet.

Yeah I looked at icons originally but went with the toytecs. Not gonna invest that much I to it again though. Just not worth it unless I can get a decent price for mine. Any idea what they're worth?

No but if they are in good condish and low miles I would ask 4 or 5 hundred bucks. If I was on the market for a set I would give that for a used set.

Fox makes a 2.0 C/O now for a decent price look into those as well but they are pretty new and not a lot of people run them

Ok thanks. I appreciate all the info. Should I look at the OME 885 springs or shock springs with a spacer?

I bet you have a harsh ride due cranking up your coilovers. I think your best bet is buy 5100s front and rear and buy OME 885 coils. That should give you ~2.5 and if you want a full 3", buy a top plate.

I dont know a whole lot about the OMEs but I'm sure some one will chime in soon. Do a little searching because that is a very popular set up with lits of happy results and I'm certain there are some great threads out there.

That's the exact setup I was thinking about. I see you have 5100's, do you like them? You went with the 884 OME spring. Are you a single can or extended cab?

Eibach's or OME 885 springs, since you don't really offroad you may want to consider OME 884's. Search the forum for more info, there are tons of opinions nd experiences with the 5100's and the different spring combos.

I absolutely love my 5100s. I went with 884 because I want 2" lift and I recently bought 265/70 tires. 2.5-3" with 265/70 tires would look silly to me haha I have a double cab prerunner short bed.

You will not clear 285s with 884 coils unless you cut and chop a bit. Both 884 and 885 have the same spring rate. 885 is just 10mm taller

I didn't know that they had the same spring rate. Thanks for that. 885's it is then. Yes I will be running 285/75r16's again.

I'm from Valdosta, GA but I'm currently in Augusta so not too far from you.

I just looked on toytecs site and they say

---884--- 2" lift standard coils - add top plate spacers for full 3" lift

---885--- Medium 2" lift coils for 110 lbs additional front weight

----886--- Heavy 2" lift coils for 200+ front weight -- No top plate spacer needed--

    (Choose from options below)

We recommend 90000 Old Man Emu shocks sold separately with 885 and 886 coils.

So to get 3" of lift should I do the 884 and a top plate spacer or the 885's and a spacer? I don't really have 110 lbs of additional weight in the front. I know you said that the spring load is the same on the 884 and 885 but it seems here that toytec is claiming that the 885 is built to withstand more of a load. Is this done through the additional height of 10 mm or a stiffer spring? Just thinking out loud here.
