So I'm looking to get a roof rack. I just want a good looking basket with a somewhat low profile that I can mount a 40" to the front and use the basket when I go camping etc. I know nothing about them though  Any recommendations on where to start? A used one would be sweet! But I'm down to buy new. I know Yakima and Baja make them... Any other place to look and/or suggestions?

apples and oranges here, but I got a universal basket on ebay awhile back for $135 shipped. think I searched "black widow basket"
pretty sturdy and has been passed between my trucks like a whore.
Has 4 mounting brackets that are easily removed if you don't wanna leave it up there 24/7.

seriously don't know why this hasn't happened.

a million years ago we went on a "scenic" fire road known as sugarpine...
about half way through there was a turn out spot with tons of space and shade.
Would be sweet to get a small group together and bbq up there and have some tasty brews.

    so....
    this should happen soon :spy:

So it seems like pretty much every basket requires that you have the OEM roof "rack" and the cross bars. Any that bolt into the OEM mounting holes without the need for the oem parts?

ah damn, Just assumed you had the factory roof rack/rails.

Why cause it was Murder'd out brah? haha jk

    why did i sell...
was a 5spd. at the time wifeypoo needed a 4x4 to drive to work (oak glen/snowy roads)
tried teaching her, didnt work. Long term goals for the runner- v8 and SAC. save time and money because I am a lazy @ss. the HEep already has a v8 and SFA...and automatic for the wife.

the 150hp v6 powerplant and torsion bar front IFS on the runner sucked butt too. lol
