12 years of catholic schooling, yes I've read the bible.

Clearly Tostidos and many others here asking pretend questions about what they believe is evolutionary theory have zero knowledge of evolution.

New testament or old? And explsin to me how raping and pilleging was gods will and bestowing his will unto us even though he gave us free will is not egomaniacal?

Calling it a collection of short stories didn't seem respectful enough so I said religious text , which to me it is due to the fact that in order to believe what it says you have to " believe "

Ignored is a bit harsh. I should have said "glossed over." I didn't mean to trivialize.

As I said before, I've read the bible. Twice. KJV and ASV, so I didn't feel like reading it again.

I have. I've read the KJV and the ASV versions of the bible, and unfortunately, I do not speak Arabic (or Hebrew, to my dismay), so I had to settle for A Simple Translation of The Holy Quran (1993, Islamic Academy of Sciences, Hyderabad, India)

It was indeed, a quite simple translation. But since I was a freshman in high school, my grasp of religious prose was, rough, at best.

I've also read The Book of Mormon, and a good friend has given me a copy of the Hindu Vedas. I'm not sure of how complete it is.

Psalm 12:6 The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.

Proverbs 30:5 Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.

if that's the case, why have books been removed from the bible and why has it been revised so many times?

I can tell you have not read the Bible. And that's Ok.

And respectful indeed...as the Bible is not a collection of short stories. However, it is far from a religious text.

    The better coast
Reminds me of how countries put history books in a way that softens any wrong doings they have done.

Are we using wikipedia as our source for questioning the legitimacy of the Bible??? Just wondering.....

That was a good way to get an F on a paper in college.
