What kind of 4wheeling is there to do in eastern North Carolina? besides mud because I steer clear of that crap.

Eastern NC? Beach driving and that's it.

If you're willing to drive west a ways there's some okay stuff. Better is to head to TN or KY.

I enjoy beach driving when it involves finding a fishing spot.

There's a couple places. As I understand it they're permitting those areas now, so there's a cost (~$30 I think) associated with it.

Too far from me to be worth investigating, but it is out there.

    Transferring over this way?

    Lejeune or New River?

Either way, your nearest decent wheeling will be Uwharrie NF. The place is already relatively small, and it seems to get smaller every year.

Gulches ORV in South Carolina is worth the drive a few times for a weekend or long weekend trip.

You'll be right on the coast, of course. How far that gets you depends on your preference for beaches. Being in San Clemente, I imagine you can put up with them.

Good on you for getting the hell out of California though.

It will be Lejeune. I got one more tour after that and I am retiring so I will probably end up back on the west coast after Lejeune. I like all of the outdoor activities out here. I just don't like dealing with all of the gun laws and other BS.

Peerunners didn't exist in my trucks era, if there were 6 lugs, you could lock the hubs.

    Your truck is awesome though.

I wouldn't do it at all to be honest. I'm about to get 5% on my back two and the rear slider and probably 20% on my front two.

How dark can window tint be in North Carolina?
Windshield: Non-reflective tint is allowed along the top of the windshield above the manufacturer's AS-1 line.
Front Side Windows: Must allow more than 35% of light in.
Back Side Windows: Must allow more than 35% of light in.
Rear Window: Must allow more than 35% of light in.

How reflective can window tint be in North Carolina?
Front Side Windows: Must not be more than 20% reflective.
Back Side Windows: Must not be more than 20% reflective.

Other North Carolina automotive window tinting rules & regulations:
Restricted Colors: The tint color(s) of RED AMBER YELLOW are not legal by state law.
Side Mirrors: Dual side mirrors are required if back window is tinted.
Certificate Requirements: Manufacturers of film do NOT need to certify the film they sell in the state.
Sticker Requirements: No sticker to identify legal tinting is required.
Medical Exemption: State allows medical exemptions for special tint. For more details about the specific terms of the exemption, consult your state law.

Edit: I think that's for cars because for trucks you're allowed to have the back windows and your rear window as dark as you want. The windshield and the two front ones are the ones that aren't supposed to be really tinted.
