Then you should read the New Testament.

I recommend "The Message" by Eugene H. Peterson. Modern, easy to read...contemporary version.

I'd be the 1st to agree...the Old Testament is a hard pill to swallow. And much of it is hard to follow. Because it's written as scripture by prophets who got their views from divine intervention. Deep crap.

Amazingly enough...much of it came true. The New Testament is that truth. It, was written as observations of a real man (Jesus) and his works while on our earth. Most of it by Paul, an amazing man himself. But to me James is the most interesting read...he pulls no punches.

Give it a try. Get past Noah and the ark, Jonah and the whale and give Jesus a listen...as told through Paul and James (and of course Matthew, Mark, Luke & John)

If for no other reason, to know the documented history of an amazing man...Jesus.

I am in no way saying you will or should all of a sudden see Jesus, the Jewish Carpenter, as your savoir...I am saying it is part of mans ancient documented history.

I think the building of both was impressive, but many studies have shown plausable techniques for building each that is histroically accurate

I too am glad you are doing well, but your case is easily explained by medical science, and happens to religious and non religious people all the time. Left main artery disease is not always 100 percent occlusive, and with the right medications healthy heart muscle can pick up the slack for the injured heart muscle. There are many faithful christians of all ages getting buried everyday due to medical problems. I guess your God picks and chooses.....

I had a near death experience and did not feel any " otherworldly " influence on the outcome

I've had 2 life saving surgeries involving ruptured colon due to Diverticulitis. Went in the first time to emergency room with fever and serious stomach pain. Without any feeling of intervention from a god the doctor cut me open and removed a section of colon that had a diverticula rupture.

If it hadn't been for modern science I'd be dead. Thank your doctor the next time you are saved by a doctor.

For me the idea of hunting for proof of a god is mute, the concept of a true deity is beyond our understanding. But in keeping with the title of the thread, I will say that I believe in one God, I accept him as my only means of salvation, and I seek to embrace his purpose for my life.

Regardless of all the arguments made here today; early Catholics hacking up the Bible, possibilities of how the pyramids were made, or whether divine intervention occurred with people personally; I know where my faith rests, and I don't worry too much about the great mysteries of the world (Except what Toyota was thinking when they designed certain parts of our trucks).

    John 20:29

    That is all

Protestants removed 12 books from the catholic old testament. Are you sure it was the catholics hacking up the bible.
