You realize you'll still have to notch the square right?

How are you notching it? Should just have to clamp it in a vice and make your marks and go to town. Shouldn't have to be 100% perfect.

 

Ya ill have to notch it but a lot less. Only where it connects to the round bar. The rest of it is just basic straight cuts at an angle.

Believe me I tried to notch them every way I could with the tools I had. For the amount of time it took and the way it looks it's not worth it

 

Hmmm notching isn't that hard bud. But you should look up some notching stuff on how to do it. And your still going to have to notch square tube.

If you're really a cheap ass you can do it with just this and a printer. Then use a grinder with a cut off wheel to cope the tubing- http://www.metalgeek.com/static/cope.pcgi

Draw it out on the tube man. Both ends so you know it'll be strait.

I'd use a cut off wheel or sawzall to cut a few notches down to the line I drew. Which should be simple to figure out how deep .75-1" would work for the deepest point.

Then just grind out an arc..I don't see what's so hard???

Just print it out and cut out the pattern, then take a sharpie to the pattern on the tube. Cut along the dotted line.

 

Did that. Still didnt work right. There was too much gap. I don't have every tool under the sun either.

 

So you ground out too much. Just grind and test till you get good at it?? Idk..what I do for a ton of stuff. They you'll just dial in how much to do...

But I'm coming from a woodworking back ground so I'm used to stuff taking a long time and using a ton if hand tools...

 

That's part of the problem. If I have to grind down and test fit each one 10 times for 25 notches it would take a week. By using square ill notch it like 8 times

No if you do it with the first one. You learn how much to grind. Repetitions make it go faster. .
