Barn Find. Is it worth any money?

I was cleaning out an old barn and happened across this beautiful old window. Unfortunately, I'm not in the market of building a home anytime soon so I'm trying to figure out if I just have some old junk or something rare.

 

I have no clue on value but that looks pretty awesome

 

Doesn't it? I had someone offer me $30 dollars for it. I'd just as soon put it in storage for that.

 

Same here. Is it paint or something in the glass?

 

The white is all made into the glass. And the glass itself is that old timey stuff that is wavy. It's really pretty amazing it survived all these years.

At first I was like meh, but then I remembered the process of making a window and I'm now impressed.

 

It's depression era privacy glass. Probably for a bathroom, which many rural houses were just getting put in back then. Lots of places didn't get indoor plumbing until the 1930's and even into the 1940's

It's not worth a lot, but probably more than you think. Find a place that deals antiques, and have them make you an offer. I'm guessing 50-75 bucks, possibly more.

 

Funny you mention that. I was thinking this would look great as a bathroom window.

Nice find! I've never seen anything like that. There's a market for everything, so I'm sure you'll fetch a decent amount of money for it.

 

I hope so! I also pulled a antique dresser out of there. Inspection date is 1919. It has the mirror too.

I'd rock it in my place if it were at all efficient... Which it probably isn't.

 

You could make it into a coffee table. I did this for my mom years ago. I found this picture on google, but mine was very similiar. I put hinges on it so she could open it and put things insides.
