Ok, finally got my hands on the TRD rims I've been looking for, now time to slap some tires on them!

Truck is 4x4, has 3 inch lift, wheels are 16x8.

I do city driving, but my parents live in the woods so I want something good for off-road use as well. have been looking at General Grabbers, Hankook DynaPro ATM R-10, and Nitto Terra Grabblers.

Trying to as big as I can on these rims, what do you got for me?? Money to spend at the moment is roughly $1000. Also need the TPMS sensors for rims. Anyone know a place to get them cheap?? Need 4.

    "Terra grabblers"

With a 3 inch lift I'd get 285's have you looked at Toyo open country at2 or Goodyear duratracs?

Duratracs are the way I would go. Discount is offering some good rebates right now. Not sure if you will get OTD with 285s at $1k. Price them and if over tell them what you want to pay. All they can do is say no. I have haggled with them on occassion. Everything is negotiable.

265/75/16 Firestone Destination A/T, Trd or wheels, Bilstien 5100's all the way around set at .85 in the front Comming soon LC Engineering header, avid light bar, lights
Firestone Destination A/Ts awesome tire for the money. Great on road, and good off road. I picked up 265/75/16s for 600 mounted and balanced.

I used to have nitto terra grapplers...did ok and were pretty cheap at time of purchase. Once they were worn down I switched to Hankook DynaPro and wow, what a difference. They grip more on the street, are quieter, and more aggressive off road.

I have the 2008 4.0 v6 prerunner Tacoma so, no major climbing or "rocks" but, I def take this thing on camping trips and even to the sand on pismo beach with no problems. The DynaPro tires are by far the best ones I've run thus far. I have a 2" lift in the front and run 265/70/17 I believe...out the door plus install was 705...crazy good deal for the tires compared to online and more popular tire companies.

    Hope this helps!

I will bet that you will get more miles out of the Duratracs vs. the Hankooks. Mine had over 30k on them and easily 1/2 tread when I sold it. Nice ride for a fairly aggressive tread and not noisy.

I'm on my second set of duratracs. First set had 50+k miles on them and were still good to go.

Tires are really a general topic because all cars have them. This should be moved. MODS!

265/70/17 on the sport rims. Got them from local goodyear store. They had the best price even when shopping online

Just bought a set of Federal Couragia M/T's. My last set was Maxxis Big Horns with the 10ply wall which I never got a flat in, but the obsidian on my desert roads chewed through the tread in less that 20k. The Federal's were cheap and worth a shot for me. I'll see how they do on the same roads.

To answer the question 285/75/16. Do you have a Discount Tire there? That is where I would start. You can go on the web too. They price match. The 265s I put on my 2009 were under $900 after rebates. Not sure what the TPMS will cost you. I think the rebuilds are $15+ per wheels.

When I ordered the couragias off the tire shop, they came back and had them back ordered so I picked up the fierce attitudes instead.

The tread on the FA's isn't quite as aggressive as I would like, but they have been treating me well so far. Winter is coming up and besides muddy spring this is the biggest test so we will see. I did get in a fair bit of cross country and the sidewalls held up like the nighorns, just hope the tread lasts longer than the maxxis did.
