Welcome man! I agree with you on the humidity, it's been killer lately!

You may want to check out the Mobile, Al. thread though. Pretty much everyone in here is from central and north Al.

Besides, we only need one David in here. :)

    Kidding, of course. :anonymous:

Come on Dave, your Dave not David.

I don't think the Mobile guys are near as active as we are. I check their thread occasionally and I think the biggest thing they do as a group is visit hooters or something once a year.

Roll Tide! (you can thank Justin for that)

You're right that the Mobile thread sucks though.

Yes, dtmccray's truck is in the shop. We have been playing hell with parts a couple of times, so it has been a work in progress. I should have it done in a couple of days now that everything is here. This is a list of things that either are done, or are in the process:

    1. Yukon Gears Zip Locker - (air locker) being installed in the front axle. The axles have been swapped out front and rear to Dynatrac D60 solid axles prior to his bringing the truck here.

    2. Supercharger - Has been installed on the 3.4 V6 engine.

    3. Rear main seal - Found the rear main seal leaking. Will have photos and a writeup soon on this. It was interesting to say the least.

    4. Welding a couple of brake line mounting tabs to frame for front brakes

    5. Bleeding brakes and checking for any leaks/problems

Most of the hard stuff has been done. The biggest issue was waiting on the correct Zip Locker to arrive and the rear main seal has been a chore. Even the best tech can make a mistake, and the first seal that I installed ended up with a tiny nick and I didn't want to take any chances, so I had to order a replacement at of course my expense. Rear main seals are seals that you just don't want to have ANY issues with. The heat has also been a killer out here. My sister (AKA The Boss) dang near beat my ass one day when she found out I wasn't taking breaks like I should have and was getting dehydrated. Now that everything is here though work is back on track and I am looking forward to seeing how this bad ass truck performs for the owner.

You are not kidding. From what I have seen this truck has some SICK flex to it. VERY well done SAS conversion as well. Only thing that the owner has commented about was the strange "squat" that it does when shifting from reverse to drive. The truck literally squats some 4-6 inches when you shift it from R to D. It has to do with the radical front dual king coil. They look something like the below picture, and extend to an ungodly length when on full drop.

I love everything about those cars, including the new ones, except for how they look. I hope there's another evo, purely because I prefer them from an aesthetic standpoint.

Oh shit, the new one does look a lot better though. Scratch what I said.

Looks like they adopted fr-s/brz styling, which is fine with me. Those cars look awesome as well.

This entire forum talks about tacomas, there's not much you can say after awhile. Why don't you own one yet?
