meet 10 Christians and and they will all believe something a little different.

Good post. Another quote I like is "reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, it doesnt go away".

I dont get the "new age" Christians. This whole 6,000 year old earth is ridiculous and only a newly taught thing among them. I just dont understand how it can be taken as fact :notsure:

When religion goes away is when mankind will truly start to find its full potential.

this post clearly shows one who has not read the Bible...doesn't understand the Bible...and has no clue as to its authors...its history...its context...or its content.

You clearly don't know facts lurry. It was written by men. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. So you are ok with the biblical fact that noah lived to be 600 years old but not evolution.

An interesting book I read about the beginning of the universe, the big bang and the book of Genesis is called "The Science of God" by Gerald L. Schroeder.

What's interesting is he is not a christian but an Orthodox Jew and he has a PHD in Nuclear Physics and taught Nuclear Physics at M.I.T. for almost 30 years...so he knows his science. He has an interesting take on the beginning and age of the universe.

As an aside, I've been reading this post for some time now. There seems to be a view from some of the atheist/agnostics that to be a christian or any other religious person means you are divorced from the world of science, that it's a dichotomy of "science or faith" I'd like to say nothing could be further from the truth. Some of the greatest thinkers and scientific minds, responsible for some of the greatest scientific discoveries in history, have been people of faith, and endeavoring in their respective field because of their faith, not in spite of their faith. Gerald L. Schroeder, mentioned above being one of them.

Here is a list of some scientist/thinkers and their contributions (I know...it's from wiki, please forgive me)

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Christian_thinkers_in_science

Now, that doesn't prove their beliefs true, anymore than an atheist scientist proves atheism true. But it should serve to show you can be a person of faith and know far more about any of the scientific fields than probably most of us due (although I do know there are some very smart people on this forum).

Just my two cents. Carry on.

I do, but you already said you don't care. Any link to the methods will not help you understand what you must refuse to understand.

You should try reading from scientific sites, not the pseudoscience creationist sites. It isn't the fossil that is tested, it is the volcanic evidence the fossil was found above and below that dates the fossil. Again carbon dating is not used. But it is very accurate for the appropriate span of 0-60,000 years.
