Whats going on guys I made up my mind on the Tacoma and I am going to pick one up this week . This is what I am contemplating, I plan on lifting the truck once I buy it, is there any point to paying (the package) for the TDR suspension package if I plan on upgrading to a lift? is there anything I am missing?

I plan on putting a quality brand lift on it not just blocks or anything...

I don't plan on going rock climbing or anything crazy with the truck, just getting to those hard to get hunting spots and occasionally off-roading

what do you guy think? what have you guys experienced ?

thanks in advanced there is so much knowledge on this site, you guys have built and awesome forum

Look at the other specs and sit in both sr5 and TRD seats.

are the seats different? I didn't even notice

I just don't want to spend money on the trd package if there is no added benefit, for when I lift it

Yes the seats are different. I personally don't like the TRD seats and was planning on doing the same as you. I went with the SR5 with the limited slip DCLB 4x4. I didn't need the inverter set up like Toyota does in them.

You will still have the seats, inverter, and locker in the offroad.

i was in the same situation when i got mine, i would say if i went through it again, i would go with an offroad. mostly just for the e-locker. the seats were ok enough in the sr5 but they are pretty nice in the trd's. all the other bells and whistles for the most part come in the sr5 or you can add them after. if you are going to lift it and will wheel the crap out of it, go with the off road. if not and can stand waiting to put in an arb locker or something then just go with the sr5.... im still glad i went with the sr5 but would love to have that locker with out the headache of doing everything thats needed just to have a good set of lockers...good luck on your choice

If it were me, and I was going to go to the point of a Fab tec lift, I think I would go with a SR 5 or less. Just think about all the parts you will be throwing away. Tires, rims, shocks, ect. Why pay for "the better ones" (LOL) if you plan to swap them out anyway.
