When you guys get your headlights cracked open whats the best way to get the paint to adhere to the chrome on the shrouds and bezels? These are the two options i've narrowed it down to.

    Option 1:
Sand with 110 to entire surface
Paint 2-3 light coats of color
    Wait an hour
Spray 2 coats of clear coat (each coat light)
buff entire surface with rubbing compound
    Rinse and let dry
    Buff entire surface with wax

    -OR-

    Option 2:
    Clean and polish chrome
Give chrome about 2-3 sprays of self etching primer
Spray about 2-3 coats (each light) of Barcelona red color
give it about an hour or so
Spray 2 light coats of Clear
    let dry overnight
apply rubbing compound on entire surface
    Rinse and dry
Buff entire surface with good wax

    Both using

    PerfectMatch Shaker Can Barcelona Red
    PerfectMatch Shaker can Clear Coat
    Meguiars Rubbing Compound
    Hand powered Buffing pad
    The lazy man Wax product
    Krylon indoor/Outdoor Self Etching primer.

I've heard ppl just using scotch bright pads..... The chrome crap comes off easy.

That said, I have never prepped when using krylon fusion

ahhh, I guess this is the Barcelona head light mod.. lol. It took me a sec to understand why all the prep was needed. skip the sanding, clean, dry, prime and paint.

This. And make sure you allow enough time for the paint to cure.

Green scotch bright pad and as Justus said, very thin coat of chrome. Comes off real easy.

Satoshi'd grill. blacked out badges. aftermarket sound system. De-chromed and color matched. OME 885s + Dakars with 3rd leaf removed. LR UCAs. Scs stealth 6 with 285 duratracs. BAMF sliders
I wouldn't use any wax at all. Especially when the paint hasn't cured 100%

Easier to do when it's warm. I had to warm them up a couple times and work fast. Screwdriver got the job done.
