We have the 2012 18' Koala BH. We have really enjoyed it. Like all new campers, you have to get all the bugs worked out, but since then it has been smooth sailing. Have fun!!

Looks good. Dealer didn't have a 18' Koala. Was torn between a 21' with no pop out and our 17'. Felt like there was more room on the inside when the popout was deployed so we went with it. 7 days until it's first trip. Looking forward to it.

The camper weighed around 1850 lbs, plus the kayak. I took over some logs to a friend's house that day to drop them off. I don't have any air bags on the truck. It squatted a bit after I loaded the wood. We went to a camp ground in southwest florida . No hills , just flat roads. Its not a heavy load, and have been thinking of those bags . They might be a good investment.

    Nice looking rig.

I haul a 1500lb CampLite camper, two Kayaks, Two bicycles, with 200 to 300 lbs of gear. Installed Firestone rear differential air bags, easy to install and did not have the rear squat anymore with 30PSI in the airbags & firmed up the rear suspension nicely. Happy I made the investment.

Thanks Bill. I just checked autoanything.com, the bags are running for $337.00/pair. I am going to check around to see if I can get them for less.

Yes it is. The front comes to a point. Pulls great. It's a Jayco Skylark 21 fbv they don't make them any longer.

Stealth series by Haulmark. I believe weight is 1200ish empty. Usually only have a small toro zero turn mower or my zx6 track bike and gear for a track day.

2012 Taco 4.0 V6 Sport w/tow package (6500 rating) All else stock with exception to bars and bed cover. Pulled a '97 25' Crownline CR 250 Cruiser

Boat Wet (In this pic, but didn't know): 5900 lbs (Approximately)
    Trailer (No brakes): 1200 lbs

    Total tow: 7100 lbs
    Total tow rating: 6500 lbs
Over/Under Capacity: 700 lbs over capacity

Only drove it about 35 miles with limited hills. The few hills I did encounter, you could tell a boat was behind us. Traveling on the expressway, we hardly felt anything at 60-65 mph. 70+ was a different matter. You felt the wind and bumps just a little bit more, but still drove smooth.

When we launched the boat, I had zero issues getting the trailer and boat in and out of the water. The Taco definitely sounded like she was working when pulling it out, but there was plenty left in her to pull more if needed. The shocking part was how well the front wheel disc brakes handled everything from drive to launch. Very solid braking for what I expected considering the brakes on the trailer were pulled off.

As an aside, I normally would never tow more than the rated tow capacity, but my buddy filled the boat without telling be beforehand. In a way, it's nice to know the truck can handle more if it needed to.

Hope this helps someone as much as this site has helped me! Thanks a ton guys/gals for all the info you put on here.
