Check my build thread...too much to list.
Nice! Hopefully it's not raining on Kauai by then. It's been off and on showers since we got here on Thursday.

I was skeptical at first... Installed with 20.1 mpg average

    hyzydyty_d38e4cdf22f86b191c01abacfe83399136e10114.jpg

On the highway, I was cruising at 80mph, barely on the gas and getting ~20-23mpg!

Passing is easier! Just a slight increase of pressure on the gas when in 5th gear, and you gain speed much faster than without this thing, and I didn't have to downshift! I feel more torque and better throttle response at lower RPMs, very noticeable in higher gears. I'm a believer!

Big thanks to BostonBilly and Johnnym for help installing this, though most of the time they were just giving me a hard time lol

That photo makes me skeptical. Rough estimate the spacer increases the runner length by maybe 2.5%? Thinking back to Chryslers original long ram intakes, the medium rpm ram intakes were 30 inches long and the high rpm ram intakes were 15 inches long. What is this adding? 1/2" to a 15+ inch intake?

Theory is increasing the intake length will move peak intake efficiency down slightly right?

We'll see when the dyno results come in finally.

Be skeptical, I know this thing works! It's pretty awesome. 21.4 mpg on my trip from Boston to NH

Based on a tank, 100 miles or what? You can't conclude much with a little data, and there isn't a good reason that it would increase mpg.

As long as people are willing to buy them without any dyno documentation there is no reason to ever need to spend any money on doing runs. That's just human nature. Personally, I think that they might help a little bit. But no one will ever know for sure, because it would be lunacy to run the risk of ending up with flat or negative dyno charts now that they've already been sold.

    Proper order:

    1. Design
    2. Test
    3. Manufacture
    4. Sell

    Out of order:

    1. Design
    2. Sell
    3. Manufacture

    (no test)

If someone offers you $1,000, or $1,020 you would probably take the extra $20. Same with hp & tq (if someone offers you +10 you will probably take it) but the real question, is weather you are personally comfortable with the cost versus the benefit in the end. Just my $0.02

I'm happy with my purchase, but admittedly I had decent dyno pulls to look at first :)

Give him some time, and I'm sure you will see dyno's :)

Thread started back in Feb 2012, certainly by now some kind of dyno run has been done in the ensuing 16 months....how long does it take to get a dyno run done?

About an hour total, most of which is spent setting up the vehicle and taking it off the dyno, with a few seconds for each run. Spending money on dyno results is not necessary when a product can be sold without them.

given what emelianenkov posted, the extra space tweaks the airflow efficiency to yield a better torque response.

It doesn't have to be anything big and if one were to have the money to build and dyno different spacer thicknesses, you could essentially manipulate the powerband within a small range.

I may or may not be making a whole lot of sense, but I spent 6.5 years working on turbine engines and a lot of time monitoring engine performance trending data to understand how even the smallest factor; say a miss-aligned compressor inlet guide vane would give a funky read further down the compression section and get flagged in the system.

of course reciprocating engines are a lot less complex and easier to work, they both still operate under the same rules of air+fuel+spark=combustion

Just fyi torspd and i have provided dynos from my truck using a simular set up (nst) with the spacer as the variable and gained 2 whp and 8 ft lbs at the wheels consistently witg sae correction. So any statments that no dynos were done is bogus.

2x. Exactly. Zero fucks are given at what the spacer does over 4k rpm. For over $200 a pop, show me what it does just over 1000 rpms.

I'm not certain that this point has actually been understood, so it bears repeating. A dyno chart that begins at 3,400rpm is meaningless for an engine that spends all of its time at around 2,000rpm. You would have been better off saving your money by doing none at all, as it essentially yielded no useful information.

Mind you, I think the spacers are very nicely machined and look great. It's likely that they might even work, but exactly how well they work no one yet knows for sure because nothing has been documented. And if they sell without any documentation then none is necessary.
