Good idea. Po-po wouldn't take a second look at a setup like that.

I love my new truck but miss my Tacoma
Thanks everyone for the help today. The LR upper arm on the drivers side would not tighten from the large bolt to the body. :notsure: We tried turning around the large factory washers but that did not help so we put the factory ones back on.
It sits a little higher than it did before but surprisingly it rode a bit stiffer. I really did not expect that since I had been using billys with stock springs preloaded at 2.5"s.
Billy my truck is sitting at exactly 23" at all four corners. What is yours at? And everybody elses for that matter.

Hmm. The light racing UCAs provide their own washers. They are flat unlike the OEM washers and they are smaller. Bigger ones on the outside and smaller ones on the inside. I still have 4 extra washers if you want them. SPC changed their setup from 4 large washers to 2 large on the outside and 2 small on the inside. So i have 4 of the large washers leftover that i never installed if you need them. I am at 23" up front and 23.5" in the rear. 885s no top plate spacer on nitrochargers and dakars with 3rd leaf removed in the rear.

Rob here is the older LR UCA install sheet
    http://www.spcalignment.net/instructions/25470-INS_WEB.pdf
As you can see they use 4 of the bigger washers, which are not cupped like the OEM washers. I have 4 of these washers and ill will be heading up your way next week or weekend to pickup fogs from mike. I can get them to you if you want. I might even be able to give you a hand if you wanna give it another shot.
This isnt the same exact instruction sheet that came with my LR UCAs when i got them. Mine had 8 large washers, inside and outside of the bushings. If you look they have many revisions of the installation guide, the one i linked is version 2/13 with the spec ride bushings. About a month later i got a package from SPC with 4 smaller washers and a revised install sheet. It had the larger washers on the outside of the bushings and smaller ones on the inside. They claimed the revision was made to prevent squeaks.

    From SPC:
noteS: 1) the stock ‘dished’ washers are not re-used. 2) Unlike oe rubber bushings, SpecRide bushings pivot freely and can be torqued without applying vehicle weight

Just read up on it a little more. This only applies to the SPEC RIDE bushings. The older LR UCAs use rubber bushings and i believe you are supposed to re-use the OEM dished washers. So if the UCAs you have are a year or two old they probably dont have the spec ride bushings

OK well I know I am missing something here then. By those pics I don't even need to use the thick washers between the arms and the mount??? The pass side was fine but the drivers side had a ton of movement and we were reusing the factory cupped washers on the outside.

It is Custom... I did the OMD style leaf pack. I added 3 leafs per side from a Chevy 2500 cut at 18" 16" and 14". Then added 3 degree shims for driveline vib.

Its kinda crazy how often they revise the install sheet. Confusing also. I used the thick washers on the inside between the mount and the arms as well as the bigger flat washers on the outisides. It was a very tight fit, i had to actually pry the UCA apart on the drivers side to squeze the last inner washer in.

Seems I'm not paying attention. What is the lift you had, and what do you have now?

I have the LR UCAs on my truck, had to have a ball joint over-nighted because is was machined wrong. Other than that no problems with them.

Im curious to see what other people have to say, so i posted in here
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/su...rance-driving-report-light-racing-ucas-6.html

I found another revision of the instructions, i believe this is before the spec ride bushings, revision 2/11 http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/at...t-racing-uca-question-lr-uca-installation.pdf
This is how my washer configuration is. I believe i used revision 2/12 when i installed mine.

Wasn't there for long, but thanks to everyone today for the good laughs, meeting you all, and some much-needed relaxation. My past 3 weeks have been especially sucky dealing with my father in law being ready to pass on, the last week of it since he came home being 10 times more hectic. I needed the break..
