To clarify...a base 2wd should have 3 springs? That's what I have. Still wondering about that damn yellow decal in the door jamb though.

I gotta say, just joined forum yesterday, and there is A LOT of good onfo here!

New tacoma owner since last Friday, and checked my VIN and PN's against the TSB. Called dealer, and made appt for this afternoon. I have read the horror stories you have all gone through. Hope this has a happy ending.

Went into the dealer with my 09 DBL Cab on Tuesday and showed them the PDF file and they gave me no problems. Ordered the parts and the truck is going in on Friday to have the springs and shocks done.:)

Have the TRD package, 09 DCSB, VDS(S) "JU62N" but i don't use it for hauling, i drive it to the office and that's it. Maybe some days when me and my wife goes to Home Depot and pick up some plants and top soil.
Do you guys recommend having my TSB done, what's the difference for not having it done. Need advice!!!!!

Parts are on order, and install is happening Friday. No hassle, other than the service manager wanted to "look" at it as it is has the revtek 3" lift.

I will post before/after pics when complete.

Check out post #9 in this thread. There is a link to the PDF in the first line.

I too am debating what to do. I have a brand new 09 AC 4x4 Sport that has the Vin and Parts # of the TSB. I mostly just drive it to work and since I'm getting older I don't really do as much hauling of material anymore. I don't know if I should have this done and if the price of the "more truck like ride" will end up not worth it to me. Dilemmas.

I pulled my 09 DCTRD Sport into the service entrance last Saturday with my Deere garden tractor on the trailer. Tractor is a 73 Deere 140 with loader and tiller, weighs ~1700# on the single axle trailer. Showed them the bump stops, the marks on the frame, explained the squirrelly handling and that if I tow the trailer at night I am constantly getting people who flash their high beams at me. It is a safety issue.

They grabbed a Tech, crawled under the truck, made some noise about TSB not covering the 09s. I pulled out the TSB and noted that my VDS and part # on the springs matched.
" I only want to be able to do what the book says the truck will do with the towing package... and there is no way this thing will take 650# of tongue weight safely. How can we resolve this. The truck has 3500 miles on it."

Monday they called Toyota. Springs are on order. Thursday they called and the springs were in. Guess what... three leaf springs! So they called back to HQ and found out the springs are the same as the spring in Canada (go figure) and they are on their way.

    We'll see....

Anyone that has had the TSB done on a TRD Sport... do they only do the rear springs and leave the shocks etc., or have they replaced other bits?

BTW... I really do love this truck.

Toyota Canada extended the TSB to 09's last week.

    Only for 4x4 and Pre-Runner.

4x2 are s.o.l. I read the paperwork provided by Toyota.

    bumf***

So it's an add-a-leaf, or ReadyLift kit on my dime.

Picked up the truck last night. 4 spring packs... front end aligned. Measurement to the bottom of rear fender flare says 1.25" increase. 2" at top of tailgate in the rear. Have to watch how it settles out. Ride is firmer, but nothing I would call harsh by any means. Very satisfied, and very satified with the dealer that took the initiative to listen.
