Let's See Your Dogs!!

picked up a rescue GSD today. his name is keeloh but doesn't seem to respond to it well (not sure who gave him that one). we stopped at the park to let both dogs run off some energy on the way home. seem to be getting along well. ziva won't let him sit longer than 5 minutes without jumping on him to play.

He's a great looking pup! Probably just take a little time to get him acclimated to his new environment.

^ Totally agree. I was at a party at the lake today. She would not leave my side. I'd jump in and swim 30 yards out, shed never be more than a few feet away. And if she gets more than about 10 ft away, she starts doing this loud whimper, vibrating whine. Kind of funny. My wife even took her inside to eat today. I swam across a channel to dock about 40 yards away. When she got done she ran back out and saw me and bailed off the dock to swim over to me in front of like 30 people. felt pretty sweet. Here's one from today.

 

Anyone else have a Canaan? Or heard of them? Need pointers, this is my first dog ever so I've got no clue what to do and a VERY intelligent dog. Don't want him to go to waste ya know

 

Love my German shepards. My pops was a k9 handler so we've always had them.

I found my dog at the base oh the Shiprock, a sacred Navajo mountain near Shiprock, NM. She was about 5 months old and was living in a cave with at least one parent. The parent was also black but I only spotted it hunting in tall grass nearby. I did not see it up close. She is almost identical to yours. She is tailless and has the same markings as yours. Some indian dog experts say she is part Tahltan bear dog. This dog is now believed extinct, but was traded to the Navajos back in the 1700-1800's and was interbred with the sheep dogs that were introduced by the Basque sheep herders who followed the Conquistadors into SW America in the 17th century.

 

I know this sounds crazy...but that Dog just looks smart. Almost like she's waiting on you to teach "you" something....Beautiful best friend....

 

He is 3or4, not entirely sure. Seems smart as hell tho. Already taking a liking to us, i went out in the garage and was talking to my neighbor and i guess he sat at the door until i came back in. Tell him go lie down (was in kitchen while i wasmaking dinner) and off he went...hopefully my husky will learn a thing or two from him lol

Beautiful pup..my lab cant get enough of the pool..me and the wife have to actually spell out P-O-O-L around her or she gets excited

Thanks, she is a blessing. We did not swim today. We went out the pool to turn out the baskets and she started to growl and scold me becasue she wanted to swim. I told her no but she was getting in anyhow.
