Eventually, everyone wants to clean up their act and have a nice life.

As long as the real victim cares to pursue the issue, they will never have that.

These weren't a couple of "crackheads"... they found meth in his car, but there's no indication that they were more than recreational users.

this! marijuana maybe, but not meth!

hell they do more charges and stuff around here for meth then marijuana!

then agin meth is a lot worse around here then marijuana. all thought they do fly around with thermal cameras about once a year.

That lawsuit is ridiculous - you volunteer to search, you volunteer to expose yourself to the risks involved in SAR.

If LE found paraphenalia or narcotics they should be criminally charged for it.

SAR is dangerous work. Everyone knows and acknowledges that. When you mount up and roll out voluntarily to go out and look for someone, you are assuming the risks involved. You don't get to sue the victims when you fall off a cliff and they victims are not as "storybook" as you hoped they would be.

meth and heroin have been in the teen recreational scene for quite a while, at least in orange county. I remember cocaine being common when I was just entering high school. Crazy shit man, kids just love to push the limits

The increased commonality of prescription drugs has definitely desensitized the younger generations as well - you can see how it would be easier for a kid to make that jump to something more potent when "legal" uppers have been in their medicine cabinets all their life

Yep i see it around here. i know some people from HS that have been on meth. I’m in one of the top like 5 counties in the for meth production, and there is 93 or 94 counties in the state of TN. at most stores all the lithium batteries are locked up, by the camera departments or where ever they are located in the store. you have to ask to get them.

last year there was a meth house bust like 1 mile from my house, and i live in probably one of the best parts of this county. lots more run down/bad areas of the county.

This is my old high school:

Things weren't any different in the 80's and 90's. The only thing that changes is the level of awareness, but that has zero impact on what's going on.

Same here. Not proud of it, but I did a few lines of coke and crank (crystal meth) at parties, and a company that I worked for in the early 80s, I'd drive the night truck to LAX to pick up containers, when I got back to the warehouse, everyone else had left, but the dispatcher would leave a couple of lines of whatever on my desk all ready to go to get me through the unload.

Of course, the shit available today is a lot stronger than it used to be. Last time I did weed I couldn't believe how fucked up I got after just a few hits. I didn't like it at all.

Smoking the shit? No way. Closest I got to that was when a guy at the river passed a joint that was dusted with coke. Took one hit, throat numbed, and I passed on it the next time it came around.

Ya... a lot of things can be recreational. Not a good thing and easy to fall into a big pile of shit, but it's not predestined.
