The Good News... After two days of solid wrenchin', I finally got the DJM front kit on. :D

    The Bad News...

1.) The DJM kit, with 4" StreeTaco blocks is apparently a bad combination. The back of my truck looks noticeably lower than the front. :( I don't quite understand why since DJM sells the kit as a 3/4... perhaps the StreeTaco blocks are taller than the DJM?

Brian sent me 3" blocks but the bolts were too short, so the new bolts should be here this week. I've also ordered the Road Master doohickie that jmarquez808 has, so that'll probably change the ride height a little as well.

2.) This is low!?!?!? What the!?!?! Now I see why you guys are all saying that 3/4 isn't low... 'cause it's not. :( On my last truck, 3/4 was plenty low. On this truck, it's still the same height as my wife's stock RAV4! Oh well, I'm going to have to leave it for now.

Here's my seriously dorky looking truck as of this evening. Looks like I have a ton of weight in the back when the bed is empty. I'm not sure why my truck doesn't sit level. Ugh.

It wasn't removing the struts from the vehicle that required the spring compressors... I put in Bilstein struts. I don't see how you'd replace the strut w/o a spring compressor.

3/4 should be level no matter if the block is angled or what not 3/3 will have rake 3/4 be more level check your front again I think you gotta give it like a month to let it settle in maybe cuz you do have stiffer struts meant for a truck that has a heavier v6 or possible jack the truck up losses the lower control arm bolts a bit and sit the truck down and tighten them then that's what we did for my dads and that allowed the weight of the vehicle to level the front

That doesn't look right at all the front looks high to me
Measure center of wheel to the fender and tell me the measurements both front and back

yup same setup i put in the front except i used the ultra stiff xii stock height coils. I just put the spring in then slid the bilsteins into place and bolted the bottom then got the coil spring seated where it should be before compressed. held it all in place with one hand and jacked it up with the other, compresses the coil and sends the top of ur shock up through the hole so u cna bolt it in.

Oh and the road master will probably bring you up level with the front, i think you should keep it the way it is. Put the roadmaster in then see how she sits.

So now I'm thoooper confused. From jmarquez808's post a many moons ago:

I measured from the center of the hub to the bottom of the front fender... 16-1/2 inches as well. The rear is 16-1/4 inches. The only thing I can figure is that as Brendo stated, the Bilstein struts are so stiff that they are actually keeping the front a little higher? I haven't been able to find anyone else's measurements to compare to.

My RoadMaster kit should be here on Wednesday. As suggested, I'll put that on before I do anything different. The u-bolts I needed for the 3" blocks I also have came today from Brian at StreetTacos, so if the Road Masters don't level things out, I guess I have a "plan B". I sure hope I don't have to pester Brian to build me 3-1/2" blocks :D

In the mean time, I'll have to try to adjust the "toe-in" alignment issue I currently have so I don't completely destroy the stock tires on the way to the dealer to get an alignment.

Ive measured my work truck before which is a reg cabe and i believe it was like 20 1/4 " stock so i think you are on the money but yeah i mean when you start to drive it more the suspension will break in and settle and from there you should be level are trucks come with a slight rack on the reg cabs and almost none on the access cabs its just the rear fender is also taller by inch or so

but id say just drive the truck and it will settle and with the road master i would crank it up unless u hauling but allow it to raise you maybe like 1/2" should be good
When i installed my dim the 20's were close to the fender then over time they ended up tucking which is why i went smaller tire to stop from rubbing

I think you made a good decision to spend your "fast money" on something that will actually be fast. ;) That, and if you ever satisfy your need for speed, it'll be a lot easier to sell a crotch-rocket than a supercharged, lowered pick-up.

Yeah, I was thinking long and hard about it. I could supercharge the truck and still get walked by most V6 cars, lol.

I though it'd be nice to have a custom set of springs made to drop the 2.7L 4" in front (when combined with the DJM kit), but so far that's a pipe dream :p

I submitted some price quote requests to custom spring manufacturers to make me a set of 1" drop springs that are 20% stiffer than OEM. The first quote that came back today was for $268, but they said they needed me to ship them my springs as a reference. After all the shipping costs, that'd put the springs at over $300... which is not do-able (at least not for my wallet).

    Get one! lol

Nope, no odd noise at all. Only bottomed out on my exhaust on a nasty bump. Other than that, the 2 hour ride home was smooth.
