You're getting really good numbers on Fuelly! Can you PM me how you tuned the truck or post a link? I'd really like to read a lot more on tuning the 4.0

Are you correcting your mileage for the tires? Just seems hard to believe you're getting almost 22 MPG with a lifted 4x4 with 285's.

If the diameter of the current tire is larger than the diameter of the stock tire that the truck is calibrated to the odometer will yield a smaller number of miles traveled, thus a mathematical decrease in fuel economy. I did see on his Fuelly account where he had added notes about having the engine tuned.

    I should recalibrate my speedo...

I understand that, but if he is incorrectly adjusting for the larger tires, then it could make it swing the other way.

Unless the truck is boosted, I have a hard time believing those numbers.

He could also have a tune that runs a bit on the lean side as well. I'm hoping he shares in here or sends a PM.

Why? I get 19.5mpg constantly and I've got a couple hundred pounds of armour, winch, line and gear in my truck.

    285's?

Ever come close to 27 MPG? I can crack 20 MPG with stock 265's and I'm carrying close to the same amount of weight as you. Obviously, there's something else going on with that guy's truck. My bet is forced induction.

I threw my 265's back on, but I chirp my tires when I drive and I shift at 3,500 RPMs.

I was closer to 18-19mpgs but that was with winter gas.
