Purchased two vehicles from Earnhardt Toyota. Both experiences were almost pleasant. First was from floor salesman, second from fleet/internet sales utilizing Truecar. Called and told them what I wanted, where it was (transfer from Avondale Toyota), and spent about 45 minutes at the dealership to complete paperwork and inspect vehicle. Would do business with Earnhardt again.

Getting a "sweet deal" is always nice, but most important is getting a truck that your want. I bought my 2012 Access Cab 4x4 SR5 about a year ago from Avondale Toyota. Guy was a straightforward, no BS salesman. No trickery or I would have walked (will not tollerate the games car sales people play at many ealerships). In the end I got what I wanted at a price I felt was fair.

In hindsight, I should have researched the Tacoma some more to know which trucks have the e-locker rear axle, what options come on the Baja T/X Pro, etc. Not that I wanted to pay for all that stuff, but adding stuff after you buy a truck costs more than if you can get it on there from the factory. Think hard about Access Cab -vs- Double Cab and bed length before you buy!

Good points - I do enjoy my 5ft bed but now I am kind of wishing I had the extra foot, there's been a couple instances that it would have helped.

Getting the truck you want is also important, and be patient if you have to. I almost settled with a color/style I wasn't 100% on because the price was pretty good and it was ready to go. Because I waited I got the exact truck/color I wanted. And just to reiterate, working with a guy at AAA Autobuying program (Bill Halverson) was the best. Mostly chatted over the phone, he researched to find my car, was in and out of his office in around 20 mins, best APR on my loan compared to others.

If it sounds like I'm working with them or something I'm not affiliated at all. Was just happy about my experience :D

And this is the way it SHOULD BE! I have bought cars years ago that the experience was nerve wracking and very trying. The customer is spending a lot of money at the car lot, we need to be made happy and comfortable. Can't tell you how many times I have been looking at new cars and a high pressure salesman jumped in and started his BS which cause me to just walk away telling him "I don't buy like this" and left without waiting to hear the next lie out of his mouth.

    x2

My first car was purchase was terrible. Then I helped negotiate a car purchase for my mom - 7 hours of bs later it was all set and done, very painful though. Easier because the car wasn't for me but still.. after it was all set and done they drove the car up to flag for her to sign the final papers and the deal HAD CHANGED! started talking to her about adding this ridiculous extended warrenty and only "bumping her monthly payment up by $40! per month".

Anyway best of luck future buyers, carmax, or one of the fleet managers, or through a program like the AAA autobuying or Costco autobuying seem the most hassle free.

I think they're just good for comparing different makes + models, and basepoint for your used car value

I had a good experience at Camelback Toyota, dealt with a guy named Moose Hess...He is a manager so there was no back and forth wait for an answer type bs. I test drove my truck, waited on getting to see the finance people and drove off the lot all within an hour and a half.

I recommend him great guy and very helpful, they even bought my girl and I Chipotle for lunch

I would have to say Desert Toyota in Tucson. I've purchased four Toyota's from them now and it's been a no hassle transaction each time.
ALmost like a no BS zone
