Not a runner are you. I've had many dogs jaws clamped around my legs/knees and never killed one, never sued anyone either. For that pussy cop-mace.

No. It is police officers duty to ensure compliance with the law in the situation. If presented with less than lethal force, then lethal force would be unauthorized....but lethal force is defined as force which could cause death or serious/permanent physical injury...so kicking someone in the junk COULD be lethal force, if you destroy a testicle.

A dog that size coupled with fact it is unknown to the officers and upset is clearly a lethal force threat. And if the dog is allowed to run around willy nilly then a threat of an attack continues to loom, in this case, in the middle of an armed standoff.

its called defending myself. its called being a utility worker and going home with all my limbs intact. i was a meter reader in COMPTON. where pits run in packs in back alleys and crackheads make as much sense as RJ in this thread.

again, like asked of all the other guys, what should the cops have done given the circumstances?

Your choice....Getting bitten is not on my list of things I'm okay with. I've already dealt with one at large dog via the animal control folks locally because I saw the damage it could do and did not want to wait for it to try to hurt my son, wife, or my dogs.

Your willingness to get bitten doesn't bind the police to act that way.

Im going to leave with this. A human in California would go to jail if they shot someone in self defense even if they were in their own house robbing them and firing shots at them. But a dog snaps once and its ok to kill it...

Well if the dog was like a child to you hopefully you would be halfway responsible with him and not an ignorant douche like the dude in the video.

Backed away and called animal control. There was no need to confront the dog like they did or try to take control of it by grabbing the leash.

Thats the best you've got?? Don't agree with my opinion and can't refute the facts, so attack my intelligence....Typical.

I agree, the cops got put in a shitty situation. The fact that the dog was shot WAS the worst possible scenario. I do feel things could have been handled different on both ends, dogs owner and cops. Maybe my emotion is coming through as I too have an "aggressive" dog that will at most lick you to death (pitbull). That and a few shots of fireball and Redd's in coming out. In the end, my responses are drunk texts per say. Shitty situation is all. K, I'm done.

do you think that dog was gonna stop from trying to help its owner? was animal control around the corner? they didnt confront the dog, the dog charged to defend its owner. and they did try to grab the leash. they didnt shoot the dog while it was in the car or restrained.

lol, come on man... there's a raging dog going crazy at a large-scale LEO operation with bystanders everywhere, and they are gonna call animal control? The dog owner needs to be punted in the ballsack for being retarded and getting his dog killed.
