i disagree, I am a season ticket holder, ive watched Oil vs Nucks many a times with Schneider in net, on an on ice comparison, Dubnyk takes close to 5 to 10 minutes to recover from a bad goal, Schneider is below 5 minutes, this does come from exposure to High level goaltenders that work with them, one thing Lou is really good at, one thing the Oil, lacked

Dub makes a lot of saves due to severe oversize in net, but is slow from post to post push offs and flops when hes in trouble, honestly the Oilers fucked up not drafting Fucale when they had the oppurtunity ;)

if the Oilers GM i take a shot at Dipietro now though, your going to get him for next to nothing, and I think hes got a savable career.

Bobrovsky is off the market now
    Bryz - carreer saveable???
DP - hes going to go for 1.5/yer so not a bad gamble on a short term
Miller - will cost a fortune, oilers needs to save their defensive prospects though something Buffalo is after....

not 100% who else is on the market though, is Mike Smith still on the market???

yah just read that, so yah the Goalie market this summer is kind of slim, I still believe Goalies are best through Draft

Hope is looking up for the Coyotes to stay in the desert.

    From Yahoo!Sports:
In the hours leading up to this critical vote, Renaissance Sports & Entertainment revealed a potential game-changer in negotiations: a partnership with Global Spectrum “to ensure the financial and promotional success” of the team’s management proposal with the city.
This is as significant an addition as the potential Coyotes owners could make at this late hour.
Global Spectrum, which operates University of Phoenix Stadium where the Cardinals play, is one of the premiere facility management groups in the world, right there in the conversation with AEG. It’s a subsidiary of Comcast-Spectacor, which the NHL has a slight relationship with as you well know.

This shows the CoG that RSE is serious about bringing in not NHL events to help pay for the arena. Just over 7 hours until the vote.

Bettman and Daly are suppose to be present for the vote.

Regardless of how this turns out that is a nice spin on that move. Several other people think they hired Global Spectrum to help manage an arena with no team and have as little loss as possible. Global can help them set up other tenants, concerts, minor league teams etc.

So it's not just a move for one side..

Just seen the 8 year offer lol. What a tool. Anyone who always him +4 mil for 8 years is not smart. I would MAYBE consider up to 4.25 but that's an over payment still. We are still good without him and are still looking at lecavalier

Boston was never going to sign him, just because he visited a team doesn't mean they intend on signing him. He probably did it to get more teams interested.

RSE offered to cover Glendale's losses if they exercise the out clause.

    Vote should be any minute!

The vote is done. The Arizona Coyotes are staying in Glendale. (Name change is part of the deal)

The Phoenix Coyotes moved to the City of Glendale several years ago, Glendale wanted the name changed back then, but the league said no. Then the City screwed up and didn't get veto rights on the naming of the Cardinal's new stadium, so the Univ of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale REALLY pissed them off. So the very first clause they put in every lease deal for the Coyotes was to change the name to Arizona.

All of our sports teams are "Arizona", except for the two basketball teams, but they don't really count.

I'm surprised the NHL and then Glendale took the deal, feels like we'll be back here in 5ish years.

Patience. We'll get our team, just not today. Glad to see we are next up though.

The NHL took the deal months ago, the issue was with the lease deal with the City of Glendale, now that that has been resolved (crossing fingers that the Goldwater Inst. doesn't file suit against the deal) everything can be finalized.

The lease is for 15 years, there is an "Out Clause" if the team looses over $50 mil in the next 5 years.

RSE who is buying the Coyotes annoced a last minute partnership with Global Spectrum, who is not only very good at putting butts in seats of arenas to make them money all year long, but also owns the Flyers.

I know the hold up was with Glendale. My point about the NHL is that they think Arizona can support a hockey team. It can't. They've had a playoff team for 3/5 years and have hemorrhaged money. 80% attendance with the second smallest avg. crowd in the NHL. What's going to change? An arena management team isn't going to convince more people to go to Glendale and watch hockey. It will help with the losses but it's not going to suddenly start making tons of money or any money.

I think Seattle will have a team before the Coyotes move but this issue isn't done. It's a really bad business deal that bought time and allowed them to meet the July 2nd NHL deadline.
