    This.

Also, I get people can hate on Samsung, but my Galaxy S3 has been by far the best phone I've had yet. I'll never buy another Motorola phone.. ever again.

My Samsung Galaxy Note 2 hands down has been the best phone I've ever had since my Samsung SGH-T809.

And agreed, Motorola phones are just horrible.

So the phone debate is one thing - although what providers do most of you have? Verizon?

I've been with them for a long time, and service is usually good. I feel like they are just a little $$

    LOL Alex!

I'm with Sprint because I get the unlimited everything plan for 2 phones and its about $100 a month. I will agree they don't have the best service coverage. Verizon takes the cake for that one. I just like the cost of Sprint and not having a limit on my data plan.
Edit: I just checked how many calls/minutes I use per month. 8 calls, 43 minutes for last month. Guess unlimited calls means nothing to me. :) However I used 14.37gigs of data last month. :|

Verizon here, they are a little more expensive but I think I have dropped maybe 2 calls in the 7-8 years I have been with them. From my experiences Verizon hands down has the best customer service and coverage

Hmmmmm... I pay 100sh for my 1 phone. Fiance just joined up so its gonna drop to 150 for 2 phones (Teacher discount!!), but still have a limit on my data...

Can I even switch without getting raped with fees? We're both in like a 1-2 year contract

x2 - there are definitely perks, but ya price point and as soon as they took away my unlimited data I'm starting to reconsider

Yes, they were free phones but not bad phones. Remember, they were "free" cause I have 7 years here at TMO. I still paid taxes on them.
Here is everything Ive had in 4 years (after leaving BB)
    G2
    Amaze
    Galaxy S2
    One S
    Samsung 10.2 tablet

Every one of these the same story, as soon as Gingerbread or ICS or Jelly bean they all lost half the battery life and slowed considerably. Dont even start my on the fucking bloatware! I dont consider myself a power user. Here is what I use.. this is it

    #1 Pandora
    #2 myfitnesspal
    #3 emailz (gmail & yahoos)
    #4 Camera/video
#5 interwebs for TW, Amazon & FB (hate all FB apps they suck ass and cant even build in a messenger app)
    #6 snapchat
    #7 Maps
    #8 utilities (flashlight & alarm)

If you are at this Mondays meet, lets nerd it out!!

Oh and for a short while my G2 would send my texts to people I wasnt even talking to!!

I hate Sprint in that they haven't brought LTE to Phoenix yet. Several places I have been to on a tw meet, I have had crappy service. Everyone else seems to have Verizon and has better coverage. I hate to give up Sprint after being with them since 2001, but I am unhappy with the speed of data. Maybe it's cause I have the Galaxy S1 still, but I have been contemplating going to Verizon for a while because of LTE. I have been holding out on getting a new phone because of the lack of LTE in Phoenix. I barely use data because of it being so slow, but maybe that has to do with the phone is 3 years old. I use work's wifi as well as home. My average data use is maybe 100mb a month since I am on wifi constantly.

The times I've seen the phones take a hit on battery life was due to an outdated app that didn't support how the new OS updates. When the OS updates they typically put in new ways for it to manage applications and memory use. App developers are lazy, to busy, or didn't get the updates added to their apps in time before the update released. I've seen this with iOS a lot as well. The dev's don't update the apps right away it can cause battery drain. iOS6.1.4 came out Simpson Tapped out would crash then hang in the background killing battery life until it reboots. And that game is made by EA which is a HUGE software company. Took EA about 3-4 days to update their software to fix this. It's always been that way with Smart phones, even the old Windows phones did that. Another issue I've seen (both iOS and Android) are doing updates via OTA (over the air). You are downloading a big chunk of data which will end up being the core operating system to your phone, and people choose to down load this while driving around town hopping from one cell tower to another. Packets get lost, things go bad, problems come up. ALWAYS do your updates via a USB cable and you will get lots of less issues. Having the phone check the MD5 Sum of the .zip file is the only way to confirm that everything in order, oh you can't do that with iPhones FYI. ;)

You can remove all the bloatware once rooted, and rooting any phone (other than motorola) is super easy to accomplish. All Samsung phones come with unlocked boot loaders and HTC typically has 1 click programs to unlock. There is no side effects and I've never heard of anyone being denied a replacement phone due to root expect for one of my buddies. However I showed him how to over clock his phone (another thing iPhone can't do) and he didn't pay attention and melted the case on the phone. They didn't accept it for obvious reasons. I've taken my HTC Evo in and the tech said "how the fuck did you do this to your phone" and replaced it for free. Android is open source, the idea is to make it your phone by giving the user the ability to change ever aspect of the phone to fit their needs. iPhones are not open source, and that's a big 'fuck you' to anyone who wants more out of their device. Of course you can Jailbreak the iPhone, but then you are just turning it into Android.

My note 2 has no bloatware, gets 2 days on a battery with normal use, a full day with heavy use, over clocked CPU/GPU, runs 6 applications on the same screen, resized icons, color themed, custom clocks/fonts/colors/ and is tweaked to shit to fit my needs exactly the way I want it to be. Right now my phone is still faster than a S4 or any other mobile device on the market including tablets. And I still get better battery life than 3/4 of the people out there on Android/iPhone. Every Android phone has a custom rom out for it, and there are roms for media or just business or the most popular - bloatware removed and tweaked for a mix of batt life and speed.

My iPhone has Angry Birds on it and a custom ring tone.

Sprint made a huge mistake with going to Wi-Max vs LTE.. Now they ditched Wi-Max and moving to LTE.. I agree, the data is slow but it will get there. It's not your phone, its Sprint and their poor decision making habits.

I have played with the Note 2 several times at the store and noticed a little bit of improvement in internet speed. If Sprint had gone with LTE instead of WiMax, they would be so far ahead of everyone in deployment. That is one of their biggest mistakes besides buying Nextel. iDen just went dark over the weekend. My work is just outside of the WiMax area in Chandler. I have worked in 3 different locations (Mesa, Chandler, Tempe/Phoenix) where I was just outside of the WiMax range.
The only reason I am going to hopefully switch to Verizon is because a close family friend works for them and I am trying to get onto his plan.

I rooted my One S before JB came out and it was unstable. It is currently unlocked and Im not sure if I want to go down this road again. Basically, I just want a phone that works for what I use and isnt the size of my tablet...
Apple is the only company I haven't tried but im not sold on them..
    I need to make a decision :(
