Whats going on TW, The other day a cousin I haven't seen for a while stopped by and with him he brought his Z06. That car is awesome we did 150mph easily on the freeway. It also handle corners well for such a long car. Just thought I would share.

Lucky sob. I would love to do that just maybe on a track. Bring it to the drag strip and really learn what that beast can do.

Thanks for sharing the pics and tell your cousin that he has one badass vette.

    Sweet!!!
A friend of ours has a 2002 Z06. He uses it for local racin -auto crosses, ONE LAP of America, and gets out to the tracks & such. This year, he (and co-driver) finished 15th in a total of 60 at ONE Lap of America.

We have a 2001 Coupe, nothing fancy but fun as hell. We just cruise around with it. It doesn't take much to get it up to 100 and not even know it.

Is your buddy gonna do anything with it? Build it for 1/4 mile or auto cross? The track? or just cruise around with it?

Yeah, like you need another hobby that'll suck the life outta your wallet. ;)

    Anything can go straight...

These things haul ass on the corners. Low to the ground and they 'stick'. It's incredible. And they have LEAF springs!! hehehehee

I didn't mean it in a smartass way, but sorry if it came off like that. I was just talking about feeling the power and torques of it accelerating. I think the corvette, unlike many of the american muscle cars, is designed with the steering wheel in mind.

No worries at all...wasn't taken that way.

I remember a Top Gear episode Jeremy Clarkson did with the corvette. I've been trying to locate it online, but can't seem to find it.

I can't remember exactly, but he started off in some high gear and kept it in the same gear up to a very high speed. It was neat. Jeremy Clarkson usually hates American cars but I think he enjoys the corvette.

Hey - does your buddy visit the corvette forum?
    http://forums.corvetteforum.com/
I used to visit there. It's HUGE. It's soooo huge, if you do a 'new posts' only after 24 hours, you get pages and pages and pages of new posts. Lots of information - similar to any forum.

I drove an '03 for a few years. Really fun cars but you can't take them anywhere and leave them. Keeping them stuck to the ground in cold weather was a challege too! Like every other car (cept for my Yota), you eventually move on.

Awww..Thanks! I did see that one but didn't stop to watch the entire thing.

Yeah bb609.... you gotta be careful driving over the small yumps in the road or ya scrape bottom. Not exactly user friendly as a daily driver, sits too low. And some folks lower 'em further

Ours isn't a beauty queen, but it gets the lush treatment in the garage out of the rain....while my truck sits outside. Oh well.... the corvette is 6 years older than my truck and cost the same amount as my new truck.

    Jason'sLawnCare -Thanks.

Janster - Tell me about it! That car was lowered. Take a dip in the middle of the road and you scrape. Do you know you can buy a nice low mileage one today for low to mid twenties? Great car for the money!
