plastic dip spray? anyone usin this stuff

Some people hate derp, while others swear by it OP.
I haven't used it, nor have I had the need to use it. Would I choose it over expensive powdercoating? Any day.

personally I like it! Whoever said its "worthless and you should spend your money on powdercoating" hasnt tried this stuff. For one, powder coating isnt cheap. Two, this stuff is cheap but works well, maybe not as permanent as powdercoating but it does the job. I reccomend plasti dip, and you should try it to see if you like it or not. GL!

 

People forget Plasti-Dip is supposed to be removable. I don't get the comparisons to paint or powder coating - they're completely different.

Just because hella people use derp as a paint, doesn't make it paint.

Knockin' it because it doesn't hold up and it comes off.. shouldn't be a surprise there.

It's great for taking all that ugly shine off of the wife/girlfriends jewelry too.

 

Mine have been done for over 2 years. sun/heat, snow/ salt on the roads. mud, some ice.(it rained then got cold and had a thine layer of ice on the whole truck) also have gone to car washes. used pressure washer on it.

only thing that did not last long was my rear bumper. the ver edges on the sides started pealing. but i think if i would have used 2 cans instead of 1 can, and got a lot more coats on it would have held up better.

 

If you take off the line through the 0 with the horns. All that you have left is the "0". Kind of looks like, um, ya. LOL!!

 

I did my emblems and it's been about 4 months and never had an issue. Even though I didn't get the corner part of the "A" on either side of the Tacoma door emblems, they're still holding up.

My buddy tried to do his back bumper on his truck and he said it didn't work. I think that he was inpatient and probably never prepared it properly. I also did my Macbook and it turned out great.

 

don't do it. it's a good quick way to paint but 8 months to a year down the road it looks like shit. did my fenders and front bumper in it and my buddy said it looked like my truck had gotten sunburned from it peeling off. actually redid my fenders with bed liner the other day, planning to do my front bumper within the next couple days.
