The warranty was for 15 years if you got the frame coating. If you were an idiot and didn't get the frame coating (like me) you are SOL past Dec 31st 2012. I've been to a few different dealers and talked to the Reg. Service Manager.

That's a bummer man. My frame showed rot after the 15 year mark. I cut out the cancer and welded in new plate. Had to drop the tank, but needed to repair the fill tube anyway.

I haven't been able to figure out if trimming will still be needed with a 3"ish lift and stock rims or if I'd have to change the rims for more backspacing...

Backspacing on stock wheels will work with the tall skiny 255s, some people prefer less offset for a more aggresive stance with that size, but really the stock wheels specs should give you the least amount of trimming with a 3" lift. You would probably have to loose the mudflaps and do a little trimming of the inner wheel well liner. I think (dont qoute me on this) you would be able to avoid the cab mount chop and trimming the fender flares.

Eric runs those tires with no issues . I don't think he trimmed anything other then removing the mudflaps .

Did you do it yourself or is there a shop in NH that would do that sort of thing? The truck is absolutely awesome, even the A/C is still cold! And low blue book is like $6500 or something, even with the mileage. So even if it cost someone (or me) $2000 to fix the cancer, they'd be ahead.

I had to have a friend of my fathers do it because I am without a welder.

I bet Whites Welding in North Hampton would do it. Those guys are top-notch craftsman. You may or may not have to do the cutting and grinding to prep the holes, but if it can be welded they will do it.
