I have a 2008 4x4 double cab trd sport Tacoma that I am looking to level out and put new wheels and tires in the size 265/70/17. I keep hearing about the bilsteins and I was wondering if most people usually just put those on the front and set them at 1.75" and call it good or do they also add a little bit of lift to the back?

If you have 4 leafs in the rear (TSB pack) you would be pretty level with the 5100's at 1.75''.

If you are not concerned with a bit "rougher" ride in the front by adjusting them to 1.75 then you should be good to go as Matt said above with the TSB 4 leaf pack

Depends if you want it level or with rake. Do a Google search and you'll find pics of both.

Sorry but are those shock springs or what? And are they aftermarket or do they come stock on an 08 trd sport?

    Dylan,

Matt is referencing the leaf springs on the back of your truck. The TSB (Toyota Service Bulletin) was a retrofit initiated by Toyota to address reports or sagging rear end(I think). You can see what you have by looking under the back of your truck. If you have the TSB you will count 3 full leafs and a much shorter overload leaf. The other stock option would be two full leafs and 1 overload leaf.

5100s all around....front set at 1.75. Rear leaf TSB.
Hey Dylan....Here are 2 images. 5100s set at 1.75 in the front......one pic before the rear leaf tsb......one after the rear leaf tsb. There was a slight rake (nose high) with the 5100s at 1.75 before I had the rear leaf tsb done.

    Hope it helps.
