    Hi guys,
I'll be driving to Colorado from California this coming Saturday. It will be a 1035 mile trip (one way), any recommendations Tacoma folks? I have new tires, engine oil change, coolant top off, brake check (still have 70% on the rotors), truck has 47000 miles (05 access cab 4X4). ;)

Sounds like you truck will be fine for this drive. I would put some preparation into your body next. Bring water, get a good night's sleep, stop for breaks, etc etc

other then whats mentioned pack some snacks. Stop when ever you feel the need to do so, it might add an hour or two but itll be easier on you then sitting the whole way. Salt flats are nice, I drove with my sister from Co thru Wy/Utah/Nv to arrive in Sacramento, it was fun enjoy the scenery.
    And early but
    Welcome to Colorado lol

It's from Orange County. I'll take the 15 and 70 as the main freeways to get there. Forgot to mention I'll be carrying some stuff with me so it will be a loaded truck.

    Dcpsychobilly,
Thanks. I'm visiting my daughter in Thorton.

I recently did 1600 miles, truck rolled 189,000 on the way without issue.

Every fuel stop check the oil, coolant overflow level, and suspension for obvious problems. Also give the tires the ol' Top Gear kick to check air pressure if you want.

Also if you're prone to getting sleepy at the wheel, sunflower seeds help me a ton.

Do you have to meet a certain time frame? (Coming from someone that isn't a stranger to long trips with few/no stops permitted)

Caffeine pills, lots of coffee, money for tolls readily available?, compressor (can't go wrong there), good backup GPS, download a lot of new music before you head out. Reception can be a b!tch :D

Oh and a SPOT GPS. Good to be safe.

here's some incentive to make sure you check those tires periodically.
