Trucks Sold!!! What's needed?

Hey guys,

I just sold the truck and the guy is coming over tonight to pay me.

But what do I need document wise? Bill of sale etc?

If anybody knows what forms I need please post them up for me.

Going to depend on your state... in MD, a bill of sale is required if the vehicle is less than 5 years old. Don't forget to sign the title over to the new owner.

Prepare a bill of sale whether or not required by state. Make sure to indicate that the vehicle is sold as is and there are no warrantees, expressed or implied; with the exception of whatever the manufacturer offers.

 

Where can I get a bill of sale? SOmething that also shows sold as is.

Attached is the Cali DMV bill of sale form.

 

Our state's DMV has online forms for bill of sale etc. Not sure about where you are at. I write in after the price AS IS & have us both initial it.

Bills of Sale don't have to be formal either. You can make one on your computer as well. Just make sure you include names, amounts, odometer mileage, and any other agreements. Most of all signatures and make sure that money clears! You both should get a copy so print at least 2!

 

Don't forget to put on there the date and time of sale - so if he gets spedd camera'd on the way home you have some proof that it was him not you.

Staples/Office Max etc sells pre-printed bill of sale forms.

 

Truck went bye bye... Got all the info filled out and sending in the cashiers check tomorrow morning. Everything went smoothly.
