    Yeah but your missing the point that she knows you as well. Your also basically telling her that she has you by the balls and that is she wants to leave for a fling whatever the fuck then your still there to run back to. It is all a control thing and most people don't realize it. Read up on "power and control in relationships". And trust me because of this thing your really cant let by-gones be by-gones. It doesn't happen unless you can detract yourself emotionally. Been there done that bud.
