I think it's sad how people get so mad at the cops, when it's obvious who caused all the problems to begin with.. You can argue or explain till you're blue in the face with people like that and it will never do any good.. That's one reason why our country/world will continue to have the problems it does, they would rather side with trouble making scum bags that cause the problems vs. the men/women "trying" to deal with the problems they create.

Not to mention if that dog had took off running thru the hood on a rampage and attacked a kid and ripped it's face off... Then it would've been "why didn't the officers stop the dog when they had a chance". All because of and still over looking the ghetto life owner out on his trying to be on TV or internet with his "catching racism or bad cop" footage, so he can get a effing riot going to loot all the grocery stores and stick it to "the man" movement, so he or ones like him, can then further complain how crappy it is in his hood with all the riots and how the police aren't doing anything to help them.

^ It's a never ending cycle, you'll never please those type of people like the dogs owner, until you're licking there nasty butt holes clean, and then it will be, "why aren't you licking my butt hole faster and harder, "you know how I like my butt hole licked after I eat this or that"..

Yes there should be as many officers as possible. That's why I'm wondering why it took 3 or 4 cops to arrest a guy that wasn't resisting..

Yes there are people who like cops and ones that hate them. I have friends and family that are LEOs and in no way am I someone who hates cops. But I hate this attitude of how "we can't be bothered by a "stray" dog so lets just kill it and all will be easier" attitude. Cause thats how all you guys are coming off right now. Its better to have a dead dog than one that "might" cause a problem.

A situation like this actually makes me wonder how a cop would act if they had to come to my house for anything. Even if the came to my door asking about a neighborhood disturbance and my dog showed aggression to the stranger at the door.

If there is a swat situation which is more important, the person swats after or the person walking around making noise?

No man I read plenty and should've never posted in this thread, But the fact of him being the one that caused the entire situation of his own dog being shot, is being over looked.. And the focus by some is all on the cops and how they could've handle it better etc etc. If the scum bag hadn't been there to begin with, it would've never happened, I bet he had no good reason for being there. Simple man simple.

I bet they do, I mean hell they use GSDs mostly. I just feel there were other options instead of killing the dog. It could have played differently and im not condemning all cops.

Why does everything have to be a petty arguement. The majority has pinned the situation perfectly. Owner shouldnt have been obstructing a police investigation, Its your right to film and all that but everyone knows he knew he was making the police officers nervous and most likely a little curious about who the dude was.

Police officer made a split second decision and was justified on his part, A Rotweiller coming at you in an aggressive stance and theres not much else you can do but defend yourself.

Owner should have rolled the fucking windows up a little more and none of this would have happened.

    there/they're/their.

FWIW there are two low level criminals holed up in a house, let's be real. This isn't Vietnam/Iraq/Afghanistan. I see your point, it was a tense situation. However it isn't a war zone if he could have OCed the dog he should have.

OC is NOT lethal force. The dog biting the officer is. Completely justified to use a firearm and I would say that to ensure his safety - He could NOT effectively use OC.

Not to mention there is a chance that OC will not affect the dog and now you've wasted precious seconds deploying a LTL measure, during which time the dog could cause serious injury.

Sure I think what he did was probably legal and justified. I just still think there could have been alternatives. It's a shame all around. A dog died for other's actions and now a community probably hates law enforcement even more. Now that it is on video, he's probably receiving the George Zimmerman treatment from the public.

I can't disagree with that - There are always alternatives. Lots of folks have their opinions, formed from their couches, where they have never had to act on instinct under stress. I'm sure the officer is going continue to take a wicked beating in the media over it.

What is it that you do that requires split second decisions that might require you to take a life?
