As the title says. I have no clue where it happened. I saw it as I walked into my garage this morning. Its the back drivers side fender flare. Thankfully the damage is limited just there on the plastic fender flare. The paint is gone as well as some of the plastic is ground down. Also the plastic 3M stuff is peeled back so its got to come off. I buffed the scratches in between...

I always park far away in corner spots. I have the viper alarm that pages me but I didnt hear anything.

    I hate people...

How much do you think it is to buy the fender flare? My deductable is $100. Maybe I should take the opportunity to Rhino line the fender flares and see how it looks...

That sucks man. Almost like someone was backing out of a parking space and grazed your truck. Not sure on the price of the flare (someone on here will know where to look) but I personally wouldn't get them Rhino Lined but that's just a personal preference. Although... It would keep this from happening again huh?

Sorry that happened. That would have ruined my day.

I would consider how your policy is written. With no one to place blame, your insurance rates may increase from a claim. May be better off paying for the paint out of pocket or it could cost you 2x as much or more in increased premiums over a couple years.

welcome to the club. I purposely park away from people but they still manage to park by me even when there are open spots.

my Tacoma got keyed the other day. Then someone decided to park by me and take some paint with them.

I hate people. If I scratch my truck off roading I can live with that.

this happens to me so much.. i absolutely hate it. i have so many door ding marks on my fiberglass and doors  damn, half the kids around here cant drive to save there own lifes if it depended on it.

i can deal with paint chipping from rocks, not from doors.

Parking far away just makes you stand out and make people want to park near you to annoy you. It's not really going to help keep you from getting dinged. It'll happen one way or another.

I've noticed that also.... I park in the furthest space away from the store because most people are lazy and don't want to walk 2 blks to the store. Inevitably some dick will park right next to me. Luckily I've been lucky so far with no dents or scratches but I suspect it is coming.

    I hate people too.

    UPDATE:

I went to fixauto and they said because it is plastic it cant be fixed; that it would need to be replaced.

I called Toyota and they want ~$300-$350 for the MGM fender flare and 3M protective screen.

So insurance said that it would fall under a collision even though I wasnt in the car and it was parked. My deductable is $500 for collision. If it were vandalism my deductable is $100.

It would have been better if they keyed my truck... I hate people!

I guess i'll live with it for awhile unless I find someone who works at Toyota that can get me a deal.

Somebody got me the day after I bought it. I parked in the back of the lot but it didn't matter.

Cock suckers! That's sucks man. Same thing happened to me and my wife. A couple weeks ago I noticed a nice long scratch on my driver door. Last weekend some asshole opened their door into my wife's new acura and didn't leave a note.

That is bull shit. I would ask them to prove it was a collision and not vandalism.
