Once again, not everyone has to believe in something. That's very narrow-minded to assume that everyone needs a higher power/creator/deity(-ies) to believe in/worship.

It is written: "'As surely as I live,' says the Lord, 'every knee will bow before me; every tongue will acknowledge God.'

Answers in Genesis is an organization that at its core is opposed to the historic Christian faith. It promotes views at odds with both scientific evidence and what the Bible actually says, showing absolute disdain for the truth.

Answers in Genesis brings the historic Christian faith into serious disrepute by making false claims then maintaining that the making of such claims is what it means to be a Christian. AIG does great harm to the historic Biblical faith, and in so doing they persuade people they have to choose between what scientific research and inquiry reveals about evolutionary processes and the age of the universe, and Christianity as they expound it.

In a form of self-fulfilling prophecy, many who've gone on to discover the weight and extent of what the scientific evidence actually reveals, turn around and leave the faith, convinced that what Answers in Genesis promotes as Biblical truth is somehow the final word on the matter.

If you're interested in knowing the truth look at the work of Francis Collins, the renowned scientist and Evangelical Christian who headed up the Human Genome Project. He actually knows about the relevant scientifically verifiable information and talks about it from a Christian perspective. His book, The Language of God: A Scientist Presents Evidence for Belief will open your eyes since it has long been believed that science and faith cannot mingle. Faith it is loudly claimed rejects the rational, while science we're led to believe restricts us to a life with no meaning beyond the physical. This view has been promoted by organizations like Answers in Genesis as an irreconcilable war between two polar-opposite ways of thinking and living.

The Language of God: A Scientist Presents Evidence for Belief was written for believers, agnostics, and atheists alike. It offers a testament to the power of faith in the midst of suffering without faltering from its logical stride. You'll be inspired by Collin’s personal story of struggling with doubt, as well as the many revelations of the wonder of God’s creation he presents, revelations that will forever shape the way you view the world you live in.

Look also at the work of John Walton, a Christian scholar who honestly and accurately details the creation accounts in Genesis. His book, The Lost World of Genesis One: Ancient Cosmology and the Origins Debate is highly recommended if you're interested in learning the truth of the Genesis creation accounts.

There is a lot that is written. What does that prove? Do you think your particular religion is the only one that has a holy book?

Terrorists quote their verses every day. Does that make their faith the one true faith to you?

You're an atheist to all but one of the 300,000+ deities currently worshipped. He is only is an atheist to all 300,000+. Mox nix.

not posted to incite or debate. but to show what many Christians believe. if you don't agree or understand...it is OK. thank you for not mocking or belittling my beliefs, as I have not mocked the beliefs of others here.

I have been accused of being insulting by one member...never my intent. sometimes the written words do not clearly define ones view, and the back & forth can get muddy and context lost.

I've labored to be civil in the thread, and tried to not get too far into the weeds. if I've missed the sarcasm or tongue-in-cheek a few times...that is my error.

    If you don't want me to pray for you it's OK, I won't advertise it. but be advised...as a follower of Jesus Christ, I pray for everyone...my wife...my family...my friends...my country...our world...my community...my home...my church...those I agree with and those I don't.

    The Nicene Creed

    We believe in one God,
    the Father, the Almighty,
    maker of heaven and earth,
of all that is, seen and unseen.

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
    the only Son of God,
    eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light,
    true God from true God,
    begotten, not made,
of one Being with the Father.
Through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation
    he came down from heaven:
by the power of the Holy Spirit
he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary,
    and was made man.
    For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again
    in accordance with the Scriptures;
    he ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son.
With the Father and the Son he is worshiped and glorified.
He has spoken through the Prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. Amen.

But does that prove that you're reading the right one?

All I'm saying here is that justification for a particular belief needs to be explainable outside of said belief when making that claim to others that they are right/wrong. That is, in my opinion, where much of the argument here has gone bitter. One side is quoting a source that the other does not find credible. If both sides argued on the same plane, that of logic, then this might go somewhere. It's still off of the original topic however.
