Sway bar relocation kit help

I'm sure this has been asked before but if you put a 3" lift in, do you need a sway bar relocation kit?

 

I was able to relocate mine without buying anything extra.... relocated it to the tool shed!

The relocation kit moves the bar so it won't hit on larger diameter coilovers. Whether you need one or not depends on the specific lift you're installing.

 

I'm going to be putting in Toytec/Bilstein height adjustable coilovers with a diff drop

 

Install the sway bar to the highest bidder

 

I put one on just in case. It's only a few dollars, just moves it out an inch or so. Take 5 minutes to install.

I'd pass on the differential drop though. Do some searches, it's really not recommended for 2nd gens.

 

Ordered the sway bar kit just in case. Did a little more checking on the diff drop and it does sound like I just need to check it after I lift it to see if I need it. Has anyone had problems with their axles lifting their truck but not dropping the diff? Just pure curiosity.

 

Only thing you'll find are some blown CV boots, I haven't come across any axle problems. On the 2nd gens, the diff drops only tilt it, they don't actually drop it so the overall opinion on them around here is you don't need them on 2nd gens.

My 885 coils contacted the sway bar

 

The sway bar serves an important purpose. Learn what it does before taking it off.

Personally I would never remove it for when driving on paved roads.

Have mine removed, with a bumper skids and new coilovers you dont really need it.. just dont drive your truck like nascar

 

Or every carry a cap , tools and lumber on the roof racks
