I was looking for something to firm up my rear suspension, without raising the truck a bunch, or making the ride too harsh. (I'll be towing a 22' travel trailer to Colorado later this month)

I went with the Wheeler's HD Leaf pack and removed a leaf. It ended up raising the bed 1.5", measured at the wheel well.

I've only taken it for a spin around the block so far, but the ride seems only marginally stiffer than the stock springs.

I also switched the shocks for Icon VS 2.0's.

The truck's a 2013 with about 2500 miles on it. I'll start putting the Icon coilovers on it tomorrow...

    EDIT:

The Wheeler's springs have mounting holes for the parking brake bracket, but they don't seem to be in a location that works for me. It might be because I removed that leaf. I'm not sure how I'm going to tackle that issue, it might involve tying it off with some sort of wire. Even if the hold did line up it doesn't use the OEM screw, and they didn't include anything else to use.

I installed the Icon c/o today, and managed to knacker the threads on an outer tie rod end with my puller. The replacement won't be until Wednesday! I called every Toyota dealer within 50 miles, and no one had one.

I have to lower the c/o a bit from how they were delivered to match the rear. I'll post photos of the finished product when I get that new rod end installed and the height set.

the c/o install was really straightforward, easy stuff. I'd just make sure you use a good tie-rod end tool ;)

When I put my c/o's in, I was replacing the UCA at the same time. Only thing I loosened was the UCA from the rest of the wheel assembly and the new c/o's when right in. No special tools required. Might be an easier way, in the future, for anyone seeing this that wants to replace the front shocks.

There's no reason for removing the outer steering Tierod when doing coilovers or UCA's, simply just remove the UCA bolt and the upper balljoint nut. make sure to support the lower control arm with a jack to prevent the brake line from stretching too far.

    No special tools required-
