I got 7 of these wooden ammo boxes for free from my boss.

Put them on craigslist to barter and someone traded me their RKI toolbox for them.

    null_zpsfacae389_10acb87d8cde9d6ad0efc157d55b050b7830aab7.jpg

Fits perfect in my truck. My mind set was to trade it to maybe get something bigger to cash out for sliders or a bumper but seeing it in person and how much nicer it is than my other homemade one, I'm kinda liking it. So from wanting a tool box to two free tool boxes in the past 2 weeks. I'll probably just trade my other one, see if I get hits on that one. :woot:

Thanks, I thought it turned out nice. Didn't change much from the original, but this one is better.

Did a little trail mod.... :D

    IMAG0344_zps7e005be0_4b6f6c030f8976e9aaeac4ff76efa90f58e3fc10.jpg

Followed by a subsequent trail fix. Thought I broke a lower ball joint...

Turns out I somehow sheared all of the bolts holding it on. Luckily I was able to get them out, and had a spare LBJ with me that had bolts in it.

I was able to drive home just fine, but will probably replace the CV and LBJ tomorrow just to be safe. I also dented my fender just a little bit, had to bend it a little to avoid it contacting the door. And I was only on the dirt road on the way to the real trail!

    Wow!

So did you use a torque wrench the last time you installed that LBJ? Over torque seems like the only possible way you could shear all of them off.

Yeah, I can't tell you for sure. The last time I had it apart was several months ago, meaning thousands of miles. Including a fair amount of off-roading and the trip to Moab! So it really doesn't make sense that it happened all the sudden going down a fairly smooth dirt road.

That's crazy! Glad I used new bolts on mine. I still check them out of paranoia every time I fill up, and I replaced them about 2k miles ago.

Opinions on Presicion Gear brand? I found some 5.29's new in box on craigslist with Yukon 5.29's for the e-locker rear. Just gears no install kits but he wants $200 for the pair. What would be a good price for the Precision Gear 5.29's for the front? I can't use the rear because I have the bigger rear end (no locker).
