Thanks. It's one of those if you don't feel like spending $50 yet you can substitute. It's not as bright as if I would have changed the relay because its using a different part of the bulb but it works.

Here ya go.... It is just sitting in place. After I pulled the modified OEM grille out, I noted that the "seal" at the top is held in by small plastic rivets so I may be leaving that off. My bug deflector sits low enough on the grille to give it a pretty good seal. I did not slam the hood all the way down, so it appears a little bit open.

I think the grid on the grille compliments the covers on the :cool:KC lights:cool:. It appears that my lower valance which is done in "Gravi-Guard" might need a shot of black gloss paint as it is textured, now.

Well, what do ya think? Too much?:notsure:

    I like the grill!

My "personal" preference would be to paint it flat to match your lower valance instead of the other way around. But I like matte black paint. Either way if anything ever happens to mine I think I will go with one like that.

It leaves you with a lot of options for different badges on it.

    I am thinking of reinstalling my T O Y O T A badge on the new grille.

The T O Y O T A emblem really is in the center....it's just the angle of the photo I took.

Hey that turned out good!

My 2 personal preferences would be the BHLM to match the grill and (this is just my preference) take the deflector off. I think it breaks up the lines of the truck but there again that is just my preference.

*Edit* Kind of making me want to order that grill now.

For $115.00 shipped, it is cheaper than a custom grille, won't rust, and people from the internet will PM you and ask where you got such a unique item. I don't think I have seen another one like it on TW.

I think I will be leaving the bug shield. I've already replaced the windshield because of stuff coming up from the road, and painted the bumper cover so I need all the protection I can get, but that is part of living in the country. I may buy some used lights and try that BHLM and if it does not work for me, I can always slip these new ones back in.

have you read the post bout the melting lense in the housing due to excessive heat from the dtrl? mine are ruined and i just shut the dtrl's off ofr good. now on the hunt for new housings. unfortunately, for 10's of thousands of taco owners, toyota will not pay for the fix if the 3-36 warrantee is expired. so that means we foot the bill. a genuine part is about 300 a pop.

    I can certainly understand that!

It looks good and yeah, if this is your first time doing the BHLM then a used set (if you can find them relatively cheap) would be a good idea.

I've still got the set of Anzo's sitting in my office floor that I'll probably do the Retro on since my BHLM turned out good. I don't want to take them apart again since I have no leaks or any issues with them. If I fuck up the Retro's then I still have the factory with the BHLM.

I read and was weary of them but its a different part of the bulb that's being lit up. It's a lower light so that means less heat. I monitored them for 2 weeks before posting this up here.
