I wish my parents helped me out a little on mine, im glad they didn't pay for it but a little start up would've been nice

Meh. Speaking from personal experience with kids around here. I'd say 75% of the time its true but we all know 67.5% of the time statistics are made up right on the spot

My parents paid $1500 for my 96 Tacoma, my dad and I fixed it up, then I got in a wreck and pretty much totaled it... :(

Bought an 02 silverado on my own, then bought the 03 Tacoma, then sold the Silverado haha

My parents had to cosign for me as well, not that it helped with my interest rate... I need to refinance it as soon as possible...

What was your first vehicle? Oh and your first statement isn't entirely true... I paid in full for a ford ranger all by myself and parked that think in water and totally killed it so I could upgrade to my Toyota Tacoma :D

I almost didn't need them to cosign. Used to have a credit rating of 790.. needed over an 800. I'm paying 2% interest. And my first vehicle was a 1991 nissan maxima with 88k miles. Paid 2k for it and started saving for other cars since then

I have no credit, period. I just got a credit card that I can only use at the Base Exchange the gas station on base (get 10 cents off)

My interest rate is 12.5% on a 3 year loan....

I don't know you but alright, I'm just going off of what I personally know and see, which isn't much. I've been very fortunate and blessed with my life as well and I don't trash my vehicles either however I've paid for them. I kinda got helped out with one vehicle because it was a family members but I still paid a huge chunk of it

Haha nice. I had a credit rating of 790 but my debt to income ratio looks horrible while I go to school so it drops quite a bit. But that's also because I make the bulk of my yearly earnings in four months and spend it the other 8 lol

x2. I don’t trash my truck. I try and wash it as least once a week and everything. It has been raining to much here the past few weeks to do it. but once i see that it’s going to stop for a week or so. it’s going to go down to moms work and get a full detail, inside and out.(i can take it down there and pull it inside, also can use hot water. also got lights so i can do it at night, and see what i’m doing.

edit: all though i did pay for some of my truck. my parents did pay for more then half of it.

I agree with this. By the time I graduate the truck should be close to paid off and I figure in about a year ill have the money to move out and be pretty much self sufficient

Lol.. not gonna lie my parents have money and they paid most of my way till I was 18. And then BAM, buy all your shit yourself. At first I was kinda like wtf.. but I'm glad they did it. I make a decent amount of money for a full time college student because they taught me that hard work pays
