For those of you who just watched Weidman KO Silva, snapping his 17 fight win streak, what'd you think of it? Silva deserved to be knocked out given the way he was taunting him, but I have to wonder if it was all part of his plan. He pretty much retired while denying he was. I wonder if he got tired of the hype he brought and wanted to be able to just relax and fight. So the only way to do that is to get knocked out pretty much?!

ive always liked silva, but hes always been cocky as hell.

he was dancing around with his hands down, he was asking to be KO'd

still one of the greatest fighters though, not like it changes anything because he lost.

IMO, it just seemed like he wanted to give his belt away from the moment the fight started.

Seeing lots of differing opinions on facebook though :p

Yup, i was pretty shocked by the knockout. Im seeing lots of people saying he faked it.

The way i look at it is he got cocky, got caught by that right and got ko'd.

    From a friend on fb...

"Oh definitely, he was being cocky and he got caught. ..atleast that was my first reaction. And then u hear the interview...he dont wanna fight for the belt anymore? No rematch?...this tells me that he did this on purpose. Cmon now, this guy is young, undefeated, everybody is on this guys nuts (for a reson I dont know)...he did this cus he wants Vitor to be champ! Weidman isnt good, hes likable and thats what the ufc can make money on!!!"

"Silva wont fight for the belt anymore he made that clear...he made $500, 000 for this fight...Weidman made $20, 000...hes comfortable in his life money wise, his family is already settled in the US, and hes been champ and undefeated for 7yrs!...and Weidman is not a threat, who did he beat?! Hes 9-0 now...why didnt he fight vitor?! This kid obviously isnt a threat...u watched the fight!...hes just a perfect situation for silva to throw this fight....so his fellow brazilian can come in and take that belt back...silva is happy with his life..."

Until he got hit when he was on the ground, the strikes didnt look all that hard. I'm no fighter by any means, it just looked strange. Kinda sounds like he's tired. He shouldnt have been acting stupid.

Anderson JUST signed a 10 fight contract; that is not the behavior of a man who's so stressed of being champ that he decides to "throw" a fight

Anderson didn't fight any differently this time around than he has on numerous other occasions; Maia, anyone? I've never heard anyone say he was trying to "throw" that fight

That knock out punch looks a little too much like a slap on the cheek in that gif.

    exactly.

he does that every fight, he taunts them, and it always worked. and everytime people say he was good for doing it.

now he lost because he did it, and everyone is saying this and that.

    he lost, get over it.

Did you actually watch the fight or just see highlights?

The highlights are horrible; Anderson faked being stunned with that "slap on the cheek" Weidman then threw 2 more that missed; finally landing FLUSHLY and quite stoutly with a left hook on the chin; that was the knockout punch - then of course the following 3 strikes that bounced his head off the matt

I don't watch UFC just making a comment as to how it looked in the gif

Yeah, I haven't seen the gif you're talking about; so, can't comment on it
But, I did watch the fight live; and trust me: the hit that put him down was a solid flush left hook to the chin that probably would have put down a heavy-weight

There was, in fact, a backhand right that probably looks like a "slap on the face" seconds before the left hook; maybe that's what they're showing in the gif
