    Here ya go Doug..

Let me know if you need some better pictures; DSLR battery is charging right now.

This is with a Deaver AAL.

Want pretty much same stance, a little more lift is okay too. Going to be putting a swing out tire carrier from Bruteforce on in a week or so (160LBS.).

Want something comparable to the AllPoo Expos..

    crap bolted and welded together....
yours look better then mine. With no weight in the bed my springs are either dead flat, or frowning a bit. FML. Must read SOOOO many pages to see if I can handle this route.

Yeah, pic. 3 says "my ride sux" haha no offense :D

Well, comparable to the expos, can get it close, word on the street is the expos are 1.5" longer than stock leafs, though i haven't confirmed it myself, but yeah, you could build a very stout pack which you'll need with gate/tire

That's why you need to get ur ass in gear and start scavenging some leafs! :D

Don't want to disappoint my 11 year old nephew, do you? Planning on a week long wheeling trip from the 12th to the 20th..

There's a set of (like new) leafs on Craigslist for $50...think I'd be better off to start with those? Then I wouldn't really get a stance pic, though...

    Chime in, oh wise one..!

I know right !!, its been a bad/good week for me, my mom has had 2 surgeries this week & me being her care giver has kinda sidelined me as for building any springs (got a couple on hold because of this) Its BAD because she had to go thru it & its GOOD because they were both successful .... So keeping my fingers crossed for recovery..

Anyway if you have a lead on some stock springs for your truck you can save some down time by building them & they'll be ready to go when its time to install, trust me when you start adding the Chevy springs shit will firm up real quick, I'd add at least 3 to start & it may be enough for your needs, the thing about adding extra weight (especially tire gates) you may have to play with it a bit to get it where you want ride/lift/load rate wise, I'm getting more springs this weekend, can't do it any sooner for obvious reasons

No worries, Doug - thanks for getting back to me.. And yeah, I know that you know - but I didn't really mean what I said about getting you're ass in gear. I was raised to respect my elders..

People, especially family are WAY more important than our trucks.. Well, maybe they're a little more important then girlfriends. Sometimes.

Gonna try and snag those leafs; hell, maybe I'll even attempt to OMD them myself..

Like I said, don't stress if ya can get 'em off to me.

Oh I know you're just BS'n haha..:) thanks for understanding Jake..

But hey if time does end up being a factor , if you decide to do it yourself I can walk you thru it with cut numbers#. Done this for a few guys & they got good results & learned something about their trucks & themselves actually... Still think I can hit your date tho'.. I'll PM you in a bit..

Shakedown run with the new OMDs and new bumps complete...... My god so much better than just having that AAL back there. They were soaking up the ruts and holes like nothing. And took the truck down a real flexy part of the trail and they were awesome there too!
    Thanks again Doug!!!!

Always good to see another happy wheeler getting the susp. upgrade with half the cost bro'....:):thumbsup:

The more you drive it & encounter the same old bullshit roads & trails that you used to dread, the more you'll love it..

    Hey Doug -

Think I'm going to attempt it myself.. Pretty sure I can handle it. Hell, just replaced a main Hydraulic PTO on a Cat 3512 before I left Dutch Harbor..

Got a line on a set of stock leafs... going to add 3 leafs per side and go from there. I'll look through your thread for some more info.

    Hope you're doing good.

what kind of travel are people getting? I added 4 leafs to my stock 2 leaf and then decided to take one out to get it a little lower but I almost feel like I got more travel with 4 leafs instead of 3. now I put my hi lift on my hitch and jacked it up im lookin at 5 inches of travel

If I'm understanding right you're lifting so that should represent droop..or ?? Oh, wait i misread well yeah you'll get more travel with more leafs, especially when adding factor X into the mix (amount of ARC)

Finally got to the yard and found an 89 Chevy 2500 with these springs on it. 63" L x 2.5" W. Got everything unbolted but couldn't get the bolts holding the springs in place out before they closed. Going to take another go at it this weekend, hopefully someone else won't take my hard work.

Any ideas on how to release the tension to easily get these remaining bolts out?

I've unbolted the ubolts. Only the shocks are holding the rear in place....its just the leafs' tension that is holding the bolts there. I can still use the rearif needed. I tried jacking up the rear back to the leafs to relieve tension with no luck..

What do ya think? Springs look good for OMD approval?
