Front of house makeover. Had a contractor replace the sidewalk with pavers. My son and I took down the shutters, repainted them and rehung them. We removed all the vegetation and planted new native species shrubs. Power washed the house. Installed 2 outside 110V outlets. Installed low voltage lighting with a photo sensor to turn them off and on. Install new mailbox and house number plaque.

Left to do: Install 2 low voltage wall wash lights, put down weed barrier. install invisible trellis for a clematis vine and mulch it all in.

I'm interested to see what my bills will look like as well. I'm hoping they are similar to our last house. even though this one is significantly bigger.

We just saw a house the other day that had done that. I'd be interested in them as long as the payout is within about 7 years.

There are federal tax breaks and state (maybe) tax breaks as well so you can cut a big part of the initial cost off right away. Could be worth it if you're planning on staying there for awhile.
always fun. that's why I keep coming back.

 I hate that too....leave your stinky ass food at home!!!
What's worse is when some one cooks something stinky and then you're the first one to use the microwave the next morning. you crack open that door
and get blasted with stale stinky fishy smell at 8am :puke: :puke:
Ha...I have a good popcorn story.
At the furniture store I used to work at there was a lady who was always a little blonde but she wasn't blonde...anywho. She started to make popcorn for her afternoon break and she always had a bad habit of selecting way more time then needed to cook said item. Well she hit like 10:00 for the popcorn...and then got a call so she walked away. Few minutes later myself and one of the warehouse guys started smelling something funky. The bag had caught fire in the microwave!!! He pulled the plug, grabbed the microwave and started running for the door, screaming at me to get ahead of him and open it so he could get through faster. Made it outside and threw the microwave, which was now melting the plastic bits on the interior, out on the sidewalk. I had run back for the fire extinguisher which I then tossed to him as he kicked the door release button to open it and kill the fire. The whole store stunk like burned popcorn and melted plastic for weeks! It was awful.

We immediately banned the cooking of popcorn in the building.
