He is just making it harder than it is.

Not trying to sound like a jerk or anything but have you tried to Google on How to replace windshields??

But from my understanding it goes like this.

    1. Heat up the old black gunk
    2. Lift away the old WS
    3. Get rid of most old black gunk
    4. Reapply with new gunk (they need to put alot--thats why i had to go back)
    5. put in new WS
    6. and put on new weather stripping
    7. Let it stand for 4 hours

Unacceptable. Sounds like he is just going to pump a bunch more sealant into the windshield. He should have done it right the first time. Get it re done.

yeah i only had one car worked on by who the insurance recommended...cuz i hit a deer in the road and it spun around and put a dent in my door on my honda that i used to have.....so the guy had to remove the mirror to paint the door or something and it like took a layer of paint off...like a chip about big as a half dollar right under the mirror on the top part of the door...then he put some kind of black tape on it to cover it up but you could still see where it had chipped through the tape...lol...he was like yeah the mirror was rubbing the paint where it touched it and that's why he put the tape on there....what a moron....soon after i went and traded it in for a new car.....take my advice...if you ever have any work done on your car after a wreck or hitting something that requires painting get it fixed then get rid of it....it never looks right afterwards no matter who does it....maybe if it's just like a bumper or something or a windsheild is ok but anything else just forget it...lol
