Well, actually the "missing link" just means a gap in the fossil record, which is pretty common. Think about what the circumstances need to be for someone to be preserved for several million years, a majority of life on this planet does and decomposes without leaving any trace. You are correct in there being no evidence we came from apes and alligators came from fish, its because no scientists actually think that. We are related to apes in The same way that alligators were related to dinosaurs, our ancestor and apes ancestor at one time were the same but we both branched out and changed in different ways.

Alligators actually existed at the same time as dinosaurs and the same thing happened, they both changed in different ways for different reasons, but alligators were more adaptable to the changing conditions and were able to survive while the Dino's died out.

As far as humans caring for each other and helping each other, like has already been said we aren't the only ones who do that. Elephants actually morn their dead, same with dolphins and some whales and other primates. . For us, caring for each other was actually an evolutionary adaptation, we are pretty weak individually and wouldn't have survived if it weren't for team work and " pack" mentality.

Oz, I respect your view, but I am neither "dumb, blind or mindless" - nor do I view those that disagree with me as such. It would be a good idea to keep in mind that the Bible's historical accounts have been called into question in the past on many different subjects and has proven to be accurate.

Nelson Glueck: “I have excavated for thirty years with a Bible in one hand and a trowel in the other, and in matters of historical perspective I have never found the Bible to be in error.”

Nabonidus Chronicle - proved existence of Belshazzar from the book of Daniel despite the view of many "scholars" that the book of Daniel was 'fiction'.

Professor William F. Albright:“Discovery after discovery has established the accuracy of innumerable details, and has brought increased recognition of the value of the Bible as a source of history.”

    I could go on...

Obviously we disagree. But the fact remains that to say that since there is a 98.8% similarity in DNA points to a common ancestor is conjecture nonetheless based on the tens of millions of differences that 1.2% makes in DNA.

the way i was taught evolution is that it started with a single cell organism(that came from the air apparently cause my teacher couldn't tell me how it was created or how it came to be) then coral pullups sea creatures came first then amphibious animals then flying animals ect ect then apes and we are decedents of apes so we all come from one living cell that started in the ocean?? there are alot of holes in the story i was taught. and many there are different theories out there then the one i was taught in school.
but i personally and in my opinion (and i do not expect anybody else to believe this) there is more evidence to me in the bible. and what i have seen in my 22 short years of life with people who actually apply what the bible really says and teaches. there is a true love and unity among these type of people, that would do anything for one another.

and not saying that people who do not believe in the bible or believe in evolution are bad or do not have love for others. because i have many friends and co workers that are very good people at heart and do no have faith in the bible or what it has to say.

Wait a minute... why don't we just evolve better DNA since obviously we need to. Is that not a major premise behind evolution? That organisms evolve to more and more complex/better/more sophisticated forms based on environment and other factors? Then for these past 350,000 to 600,000 years (based on neanderthal), why is it that our DNA has not "evolved" to the point that it no longer degrades?

    DNA is the building block
Its arrangement is what controls genes, and physical attributes

And what do you mean, degrades? Why aren't we immortal yet?
