Store your AR15 in your Tacoma

I understand guys. It wouldn't have done any good to try to iron it out. He was already past angry. It is perfectly legitimate to say that velcroing a shotgun is not a good policy if leaving the firearm unattended. That is a GOOD thing to say. But you're right, I immediately took offense when he made an off-handed remark about being able to holster a shotgun because he did come across as being a smart mouth troll when he could have made some effort to clarify what he was saying.. Sorry to say but he could have been more helpful and said, "hey, you know, that might not be a safe nor a responsible way of storing firearms" at which I would have totally agreed and clarified my own position. I don't leave guns unattended in my truck. I transport them though and sometimes they are accessible. As far as ostridge, I don't have any problem with him at all. The world needs knowledgeable firearms people because lets face it, there's way too much FUD out there. Props to him. But next time he decides to be 'helpful' he should sound like it too, not treat people like they're idiots before they get a chance to explain themselves.

 

BTW, my last truck had an upright maglock mount for the shotgun. It was out in the open and clearly locked but I still didn't feel comfortable using it.

 

Look around TW for a bit, we are all smart mouthed trolls at some point but the name calling is what's frowned on, especially on such a low post count account.

 

I don't doubt that ost is a good guy, nor that he's a smart guy. He just pissed me off talking down to me and it wasn't necessary. I wouldn't have done that to a noob.

.40 S&W... the P229 was the only original 200 series model that was actually designed for the .40 S&W cartridge. Once you have the springs broken in, no other Sig model will shoot the .40 softer and straighter than the 229. The P239 is okay as a carry gun, but honestly the squared-off front strap isn't very comfortable so I wouldn't go to it except as a backup. If you want accuracy and speed, the 226 X5 is amazing, but it bucks a bit. Some custom work and loads can bring it back down. Glock 22/35 is still my choice for competition.

 

All of the CZ-75 models shoot well, and unlike other handguns that one seems to play well with just about everyone that touches it. StZu is right, the CZ-75 whether P01 or SP01 or whatever is worth having.

 

Sean, I shot the P229 DAK .40 in the service, fine shooting weapon. I have a P229 DAK 9mm you can fondle if you're good.

 

For a carry gun, IMHO the best balance between firepower, comfort, accuracy, fast deployment, and avoiding printing is the M&P Shield, and despite being a double stack I'd also say the Glock 27. Both hide really well. I've seen a bunch of 380's and single stacks big bores and not much else is all that amazing. Cause really in the end, when you limit the size of the gun like that, there is only so much you can do with ergonomics... and its already hard to design an accurate and reliable gun to begin with. The M&P Shield usually runs about $500 these days but I've been seeing them for less lately. The Glock 27.. well it should be about the same. As far as Sig goes... I looove Sig, so it pains me to say it, but it just doesn't empty out as fast as a Glock does. I used to take training courses with my Sig and I'd finish last every time. The instructor handed me his G19 and from then on, if speed was involved I was holding a Glock. The P229 is too thick to carry without printing. The P239 is thinner but not much less... if you're a big or tall guy you can probably hide it just fine.

For CHL, I carry my G19 during the winter, but on hot days (2/3rds of the year here) I carry a j-frame on my ankle. I'll be getting an M&P Shield in .40 very shortly. I've got a buddy who has one, swears by it, and let me carry his around for the day. It is absolutely legit. Like carrying a wallet in your waistband. Take up Kodiak on his offer by the way... the 229 DAK is super sweet if you're okay with a double action trigger. I holster carried that gun for 3 years.

 

870 with a folding stock & Aimtech Warhammer, added MOE MVG and EOTech
It fits quite nicely without any modification. Maybe add a side release strap or velcro strap to the metal loop to prevent rattling

Thanks! I only bought the warhammer specifically for the 870 though. The stock came with it(a choate top folder) and the EOTech came off my AR when I put a real scope on it

 

Believe this to be a great idea, all set to make the minor mod and store one of my ARs, then it hit me.

Factory Entune JBL system, sub in the location, does not look like this will work for me.

 

Is that heat shroud and quad rail all one system
