    If you have the $ Thule Whisbar 27 flush mounts would be really nice.

    I already had a Yakima set from a previous vehicle, so just used different clips for the Q towers, and am in business.

    The Yakima tubes are round, which is a p.i.t.a. for adding accessory fixtures, eg kayak pads, as they want to spin around the bar.

    The aero or square shape would give a better grip for add-ons.

    I honestly really like the OEM rack mostly because I can deploy or stow the crossbars, so my mileage doesn't take such a big hit.
