my dash board in my 07 Tacoama just started rattling the other day god it is so annoying . It's right in the area of the all the gauges or so it sounds. So I get to take it to toyota and see what kinda of excuse they come with about fixing it or not being able to hear anything..

If the rattle is coming from behind the dash, chances are something is loose back in there. I had a Jeep Wrangler for a number of years (traded it without a second's worth of regret to get my Taco, but that's another story) and put a bunch of quarters into the ash tray to use in car-washes, etc. Seems that a bunch of them bounced out and ended up behind the dash and every time I'd hit a bump I'd hear 'em rattling back there. Finally figured out how to take the dash panel off without destroying it and get them out of there because the rattling drove me crazy on bumpy/washboard roads, which I do drive on with some regularity. Found $6 worth of quarters back there!! No wonder it made noise!

is it an actual rattle or more of a clicking sound when you turn or go over bumps?

It's more like a creaking noise almost like something is rubbing. I'm going to take it into the dealer next week since it has 6,500 miles on it it's still under warranty. I tried applying preassure here and there but nothing works so I'll let them deal with it. Thanks for responding

Had a good one in my passenger side dash. I usually have the stereo up loud enough where I don't hear it, but I like my piece and quiet, which is when it comes alive. Then, last week it just stopped . I'm sure it will be back!!

same here. i had a sqeek from my fan when i would turn the vents on and got a whole new blower from teh dealer. now i have a random clicking. i cant tell if it is from teh steering column or the dash or the windshield. its almost impossible for me to track down. what makes it worse is sometimes its there and other times its completely gone for days or weeks at a time, so taking it to the dealer would be a waste of time since i cant find it or replicate it. it only happens when i'm moving and hit a bump or turn the wheel. if i turn the wheel when i'm still it wont do it. stuff like that drives me insane

I have a rattle/clicking sound coming from the back seat area on the driver's side of my DC only when I make right turns or hit some large bumps. Do you know what this could be, ndcouch? Or, do you have a similar rattle?

There's no way I'll ask the dealer to look at it unless I can find something broken. My last Tacoma DC had a broken weld inside the passenger door piilar and it rattled all the time. The dealer could never hear it and their "fix" was to "turn up the radio". I finally found the broken weld and decided that I didn't want anyone welding in my interior so I traded it in for my '08 DC.

The rattle I'm hearing now is not near as bad, and not metal on metal. It almost sounds like a baby rattle-like noise and only happens when I make right-hand turns. It really doesn't bother me much but if I can easily fix it, I will.

I have a similar noise and a "creaking noise" is exactly how I describe it. It does it when there's a weight shift like in stopping or cornering. Did you ever take it in? What did they say?

i found a similar "creaking" noise when i was driving around last fall. guess what it turned out to be....... the seat belt buckle. you guys should try to hold the buckle firmly next time you hear it, and if it goes away, then there you go. i also found that i could move it slightly with my hand or shift around in my seat to make it start doing it. it took me 2 weeks to finally figure out where the noise was coming from.

I took it in and of course they couldn't duplicate the noise, it does come and go. Guess I'll wait till it gets really bad a take it back again.
