You guys have an awesome state! We just got in yesterday, met up with friends in Anchorage then drove down to Girdwood. We're taking a trip to Seward later this week and doing a cruise tomorrow. Today, we're going to the top of Alyeska. I woke up to a black bear in our front yard, I got a good picture of him but had to get like 10' away from him to do so. Kendra was freaking out but he was just a little guy :D

Say hi to the ticket office gals for me at the tram. That's where I work actually but today's my day off. Probably could've gotten the TW discount :)

Nice! I'm not sure if I'm going to see the ticket girls, I think I'm going to hike it :)

Thanks! We're getting our schedule worked out so I'm not 100% sure where I'll be and when. We came out for a wedding and a bunch of stuff just happened with the Bride's family and accommodations so we've been trying to run around and help her out and haven't had any time to look into what there is to do. Once I figure things out, I might have to take you up on it and see if you want to grab a cold frosty beverage. I hear Alaska breweries make good beer.

That's awesome, I guess I figured it was common after seeing him. I'm wondering if the tourists aren't locking the trash barrels so that's attracting them :notsure:

Made some panko-crusted sockeye today...holy cow was it good. I also baked some and flaked it up for croquettes tomorrow night. Wild salmon is pretty amazing.

It was awesome! I thought the hike would have been harder, Alyeska calls it an advanced trail but it wasn't bad at all. The only people I met that worked there was a guy with a pony tail who was operating the tram on the way down and there was a girl working in the shop at the top who had just moved here from Iowa.

What are you looking to get for the handles? I'm local :D

Yeah the hike really isn't that bad. They call it advanced so the 80 year old tourists don't try to hike up and then collapse half way up haha
