    you want NON IODIZED salt or pickling salt. Iodized salt will sting...and then you'll blame me for your misery :( And distilled water, especially if you have a water softener in your house
    recipe:
    Start with one to two cups of warm water. Add 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of non-iodized salt and a pinch of baking soda to soften the effect of the salt. Use distilled, sterile, or previously boiled and cooled water to make the solution to help prevent infection.

    Or you might be able to find large bottles of premixed saline solution

    We use Neilmed's premixed packets you add to the water. Used to buy the distilled water, but now we just use our tea kettle to boil water instead.
