That place sure went south today. Lots of members looking for strong definitive leadership and met with party back bencher complainers.

Well, I figured what the hell. My response to CT that I just posted in one of the threads:

I think you've missed my point and what I was agreeing with in regards to James comments.

The opportunity was for CT4WD's board/directors/owners to show a definitive, strong leadership position about the catastrophe down south. Taking a firm stance after the fact is reactionary and not indicative of strong leadership. As pointed out in other threads, this Association is a business and as such, its incumbent on the business owners to take a stance. Whether the membership agrees with this stance or not is another topic. Sort of like when the union goes on strike, they get out there ASAP with signs and membership presence. As far as I know, and from what I've gathered through some threads here, is that public positioning has not happened (officially).

If I was an owner, I would have made a common sticky in each subforum that provided CT4WD's official stance, reasons for the stance, and solicited membership opinions in that one thread that everybody would see (vs multiple threads where not all members will see what's going on) and I would have sent out an email to all members as well. With a paying membership, I would not have taken a reactionary stance.

I did see the Calgary and High River specific threads and in those threads, many ideas, thoughts, prayers, et al were offered from the membership. What I don't/didn't see was an "official" thread for the crisis. Given that some of us members don't live down south (i.e. me), it can be a fluke or off chance occurrence that we stumble across threads that are devoted to the land issues at stake. Today I've found two, this one and one in the Calgary area forum.

I can surmise that some of the frustration is a passive approach by the Association to the land issues that have been brought up versus an assertive stance. If I had a contact that was out of the office, and this person was my sole direct contact to an area that impacted my business, I'd be sure to have a back up contact/plan so that when my customers/members start raking me over the coals, I'd have something to come back with versus we'll just have to wait until tomorrow.

If this Association was free and not a business, I think all of these issues would be non-starters because it would person vs person. People argue all the time, it's on every forum that you go to. As it is, this specific forum is sort of like employees/customers vs owner, and you know what they say about customers.

The one thing that should be taken from this is that ownership needs to ascertain some policies amoungst themselves so that in the event something of this magnitude happens again, what we're seeing now won't happen again on the forum board. Take a stance, get the message out, avoid confusion within the membership, and then fine tune as required, if necessary.

I can help with that. I have some spare steel as well if a full reinforcement is necessary.

    Lemme know. My schedule varies.

Just about pulled the trigger on my suspension upgrade yesterday.
Had a pair of icon UCAs in my hands. Had to use all my strength to resist taking them home.
Brought up a whole list of questions.
I think I'll be dumping everything prochump. Seems like ill have to jump through hoops to get my rear end to stay level with the front.
And with the procomp I still loose clearance.

ubolt flip doesnt eliminate blocks.... it just takes the bolt from facing down to facing up

Yes yes. I get that. Does the expo pack and custom shackles get rid of the blocks. Then can I do a ubolt flip with "that" upgrade?

Howdy gents. I see a lot of familiar names here. A lot of good people by the looks of it. I really look forward to being around a bunch of positive yota owners.

Look forward to meeting those of you I haven't yet had the pleasure.
